Westbrook can basically do everything Rose can do. He's just in a more free-flowing offensive system whereas Rose plays a structured role.

Rose has a bit of advantage running the pick and roll and maybe general bball IQ, but that's about it. Defensively I'd take Russ.

Obviously both guys are significantly better than most guards in the league.

Thank you sir, I'm fairly faded but you illustrated my thoughts well.

Ill take Westbrook just because of his defense/rebounding. He's also got the size advantage on Rose. Still love Pooh though and can't wait to see him make ****** look like fools after the All Star break. Thibbs gonna play him 40 minutes a game by November though

Russell is just straight up underrated here and in the world. That is superstar talent and production- great player,

Rose? Yeah, overrated for those who think he's a top-5 type player. And the "Watch Out Miami" memes when he got stomped by Miami last time they faced off in the playoffs.

Hell, Thibs is overrated, the whole damn team is overrated outside of Joakim Noah. I honestly don't think they are true contenders.

They made it to Game 6 in the second round against the Heat with Rose, Deng, Noah and Heinrich all out. Nate Robinson and Jimmy Butler were their best players at that point. Thibs is an awesome damn coach. There's a reason why every single team he's been a part of has been a contender.

Yall can call Buc Em a troll but the Wizards are some **** until proven otherwise. Point blank.

This season will be the most telling season for the D-Rose Westbrook debate. As it stands now I think Wesbtrook is better but I expect a much improved jumpshot out of Rose and then it will be up in the air between them.

Then you can say the same exact thing about the Magic, Cavs, etc. Which, coincidentally, are all teams BucEm is hyping.

His argument is strawman. Nothing more, nothing less. It's really not even worth entertaining.

As it stands Westbrook is better? Why? We are basing this off of what? Westbrook being healthy last season and Rose not? Because I can't see any other reason why you could make that claim.

Plus, you can't count this year against Rose forreal. Next season is when I would start "judging" him. Takes time to heal and get back to his normal self

All those teams are some ****.

But living in this city all my life, I can't see how anyone can have ANY confidence in that franchise showing an ounce of success. That is all I am saying man. I don't care if the Wizards had LeBron, Wade, Rose, Dwight, and Karl Malone as their starting 5, they would find a way to mess that up

Of course not lol. I'm admittedly biased to jump shooters and Westbrook has a better jumpshot so I have to give him the nod. I'm not saying hes miles better than D-Rose by any stretch. I also think D-Rose will come out the gates 100% comfortable on the floor so this season would be a good time.

You got something to back that up?

His pull up mid-range is probably better without looking at numbers, but his 3-ball isn't better. That isn't debatable. Rose attempted way more and if I am not mistaken shot a higher %. I am sorry if he didn't but I am not in a position to look up the #s right now

I hear you...but at some point they're going to have to reverse their fortunes. Last year was enough of a sample-size to see that this team has potential when Wall is on the floor. No one is saying that they are going to be contending for a championship. No one. However, there should be enough optimism to believe that they'll be in contention for a playoff spot next season. Having a decent basketball team in DC has been a long time coming, but it seems like they are finally taking steps in the right direction. Assuming that they have marginally good health over the course of the year. We'll see what happens.

Man I have no reason to have ANY faith in them. They don't HAVE to reverse anything. That can be some trash for the rest of eternity.

But in all seriousness, DC is a basketball town. The Skins are important right now but if we had a serious basketball team, this city would be on fire.

I don't have a problem with the argument...but literally NONE of you were saying that before Rose went down.

As one of the bigger Russ fans on here, the closest I came to saying it was pointing out Russ' numbers were very close to Rose's MVP season. But that was more to defend Westbrook than to say he's better than Rose.

Westbrook's stats are impressive because he's doing it alongside the 2nd best player in the league.. but that also gives him freedom that Rose doesn't get as the number 1 option and leader of his team. They're a lot closer than some people might want to admit.

I was actually talking specifically about the mid range as well. I know Westbrooks three pointer isnt that great. I'm actually not in a position to look up stats either but if anyone else can just post the most recent shooting charts for each I'd appreciate it. Again I dont think the gap between them is that large and Rose can easily establish himself as being the superior player, but as it stands now I would take Westbrook

Overall they both are 1st tier PGs. Gap isn't large at all (if there is even one).
