People keep talking about how the lows are more functional. If you can't pull off the 9 high you just don't have any fashion sense. It's not hard at all. If you weigh 500 pounds I get it but if your a regular build and can't figure it out you just can't dress. If someone thinks the highs are ugly I respect that but not being able to pull them off casually says a lot about your lack of style. IMO

There's a reason a good majority of women/kids don't wear kobe 9 elites, and the men cover the kobe 9's high top part with long jeans.

The reason is they can't dress. Who would wear Elites with jeans in the first place? Just because you know or see folks who can't pull them off doesn't mean it can't be done. Maybe my fashion sense is just better than yours.

MPs were still limited. Just because locations in LA or NY had plenty of pairs doesn't mean the rest of the country did. They didn't release at that many stores, and big retailers like FTL didn't release them online. For some people, their only shot at getting a pair was either through NDC, which crashed like crazy with Tiffany Dunk Highs also releasing that day, or random sites/shops that had them online.

Homie.. If you ask any mature women her thoughts on the high top Kobes.. She'd look at you funny. If you are talking about fashion sense, the high tops don't work with anything but shorts. If you actually keep up with the fashion world, a well dressed person is usually wearing some well fitted pants with low tops, probably not even sneakers.

Either way, you CAN pull off the high tops. I've done it and I've seen it done. I know women who like them and women who don't... It's all on opinion point blank.

i always thought it was about confidence in what you wear to make it work. that's how new style trends start. they may look terrible, but somehow people change their minds when celebrities dress that way with confidence.

TBH I only have one pair of high's (9's in general) but what's wrong with being different? lows and mids are only acceptable? If anything, I see more people wearing weirder looking high top shoes than these. Picture the ones lil wayne and bieber made teens think are cool lol Kobe 9 high's can look good a few different ways and I like them primarily because they aren't just a simple re-do of the usual plain looking shoes.

What color red would you guys say the Kobe 9 Low Elite (Red University/Glow) is? Would y'all say the red is a vibrant red color similar to the raging bulls? Or more dark red/close to maroon? In the filtered pics they look raging bull red... In the on feet pics they look darkish red/close to maroon.

I'm not saying if you don't like the 9 Elite you can't dress. What I was saying is simply they can be worn casually like any other shoe. Not everything looks right on everyone granted but because X person can't pull them off doesn't mean there ugly and no one can. Everything I wouldn't wear isn't ugly to me. I just wouldn't wear it and it may look good on the next person.

I like the look, too, but flyknit is supposed to be lightweight and pliable. None of the FK Elites are either of those things.

Nike didn't put flyknit on the highs and lows for functionality, they did it for aesthetic purposes to generate interest (hype...). Most of these flyknit Kobes aren't even utilizing the weaves to their potential, so IMO they're really failing at almost every point with these shoes. The EMs function better on court and the majority of the FKs are very plain.

I understand I'm probably alone in this line of thought, but that's fine. The FK Elites have just been incredibly underwhelming from what I thought they could/would be.

AGREED. But I think the FK has been used decently well... most notably with the "Lakers" colorway. Definitely not as detailed as the FK Runners, but they're getting better w/ these Red/Black Elite's. The Elite Lows should've been THEE ONLY Kobe 9's all along. Those EM's may be nice for hooping, but don't hold a candle aesthetically to the FK Pairs.

I would def. like to see a Volt/Black split-color colorway similar to the ones on FK Racers, but I doubt it'll happen.
