- = HYPERFEEL thread = -

Why not? I use them for both.

I do all the time. Only thing I really can't do stuff like that in is air maxes or anything high off the ground.

I used to read way back in this thread that these are more for running and they are a little unstable. And they aren't that low to the ground because of all the cushioning. But if you guys recommend it, I'll give it a shot

I mean you can't go wrong with vans, and there are better shoes made for it, but they aren't bad IMO.

anyone have both racers and hyperfeels? i was wondering what you would prefer for overall comfort and preference. love the hyperfeels, but as many have stated, the $$$ is too much. Would rather spend it on a pair of other FK but maybe (hopefully...) when the price drops, I'll have my hands on a pair

I guess I'm the minority here.  While the hyperfeels are more comfortable, I actually prefer the racers.  This is only because I've run in both and the racers are the better shoe for long distance.

I don't think Hyperfeels are meant for long distance running, cushion is just too thin.

I don't even like doing long-distance runs on Free with 3.0 and 5.0 soles. Pegasus and Lunarglides are my favorites for runs farther than 3-4 miles.

I'm sure they can be used for distance. i do half marathons in frees and those have less cushioning.

Does frees really have less cushioning?

I mean this shoe is unique that it has free sole and lunar insole but that free-waffle sole is very, very thin.

I am not sure the lunarlon insole makes up or are thicker than the regular 3.0 or 5.0 sole plus it's regular insole? My guess is the lunarlon insole will only be slightly thicker/more cushioned, no?

I've only run in the Free 4.0, but IMO the lunarlon insole of the Hyperfeels are softer than the Frees.  After a few miles there's minimal support as the soft cushioning of the hyperfeels starts to flatten out.  It will come to a point that I feel like I'm literally running barefoot, which is fine for short burst, but not for a long distance run.  The Frees are firmer than the hyperfeels, so they can last a bit more mileage than the hyperfeels.  However for me, I still go with FK Trainers or Racers for long distance (6+ miles).

So is the hyperfeel trainer supposed to provide more lateral stability then the regular hyperfeels?

I am always in the market for a good training shoe. Right now i like deadlifting in my free 3.0s and found my free run 5.0s to be a little better for squats since they have more of a heel. But i use my 3.0s for most lifts and running/sprinting. I mix my flyknit trainers in as well but i don't like squatting with the zoom forefoot idk why just doesn't feel right

Since it's meant to be more of a trainer shoe, I'd say yes to it giving more lateral support. That is probably the purpose of the extended rubber sole/midsole on the lateral side of the shoes.

What I did notice is that the lunar/free insole hybrid (which is practically the Hyperfeels midsole as well?) has a thicker heel, higher than I expected for sure. The regular HF is suppose to have 3mm heel to toe drop iirc, I am not sure if it is the same with the TR or if they added more in it.

If you like shoes with more of a heel for deadlifts, then you might consider the TR/ If you really want to go barefoot, you can easily just remove the insoled and do your squats and deadlifts that way and then put the insoles back on when you need them for your other workouts.

really appreciate the feedback man.

I want to pick up a pair of hyperfeel run's on discount if the reds ever make it there. And i will try to grab these if they go on sale. $175 ain't happenin right now. I got my eye on the new 5.0 trainers and really hoping the men get a 1.0 release soon

I had my eye on the 3.0 just because I like less cushioning for my trainers and I loved last seasons, it's still in my rotation as a matter of fact.

I wanted to give the HF a try though and when the TR came out specifically made for training, I just couldn't resist so I gave it a shot. I was thinking this is the closest to 1.0 they will make for mens, I hope i am wrong though.

Please post some additional feedback after you've had a chance to use them.

When did the military blue hyperfeel runs release on NDC? I see them on the site as sold out...

I don't think they ever did, they're probably just prepping to release them.

Love these.

Can't really chime in on performance, though, only wore them casually.

I haven't worked out in the TRs yet but had a chance to really feel and try them on further last night.

Everything relies on the insole. At first when I took the insole out, I though the heel was thicker but it really isn't, it was just concaved. It cups your heel, I believe this is the same way the Kobes are these days. The insoles cupping your heels is what locks down your feet and provides support for lateral movements.

Traction feels great, really has great grip and being close to the ground, I was loving it. I think this might be the best traction in any training shoes I've had so far which includes several Free Trainers 3.0s and 5.0s. The new traction pattern/thread works really well, they are rather thin and small so I am not sure how well it'll hold up if you do hiit outdoors though, it might destroy it quicker than indoors.

Did a few squats (no weights) and balance seems good, heel to toe isn't too high so I think most might be happy with it. Again it was just a quick test just to see so that is an initial reaction/feel.

So far the shoe feels great and looks like it has what it take to perform well.
