I feel like if we looked at Marvels movies with the same scrutiny we could have the same gripes. It's a movie about superheroes at the end of the day.

Some Marvel movies are absolutely cringe worthy but didn't catch any of this flak.

I thought Deadpool was pretty god awful but I am in the minority there

If we just saying marvel movies as in movies based on marvel characters..

All fantastic four movies get criticized.. Daredevil.. Elektra.. All wolverine movies.. Xmen gets flak.. Basically anything fox aside from deadpool

Sony gets some shhhhh with a couple of the Spiderman movies (part 3 and amazing spirdermans)

MCU gets crap for the Thor movies, last two ironmans.. Some weren't high on AOU.. Lamekilla hates GOTG

Then you have ang lee's hulk

You scrutinize any more scene for scene, second for second and only look for a logical actions and all of them are going to be bad.

Where have you seen an MCU film dissected scene per scene and then said, "why didn't Cap do this" or "why didn't do that"?

As in every decision made in the film was questioned.

Hell I even remember when I asked in Avengers how everyone could talk to each other all of a sudden in the final fight and people just laughed and said "I didn't even notice that".

Criticizing is perfectly acceptable, what is going on here is completely different. Have you read the last 20-30 pages?

If you go through this thread and still believe Marvel gets the same scrutiny then again I just don't know what else to say.

marvel movies have a consistent tone

the story flows from beginning to end with easter eggs and universe building elements blending into the story rather than being blatantly shoved in our faces

it would have been awful and made no sense if midway through captain america we get a random scene of thannos that has nothing to do with the rest of the movie. that takes away from the narrative and destroys pacing. that's why end credit scenes are so effective, after the story has concluded then you are able to give fans something to get excited about for the next movie.

and what makes marvel movies so good has always been the characters and their interactions with each other. iron man and captain america are not suddenly mad at each other for no reason. we have seen their different world views clash in the two previous movies and will have a strong understanding of why they are going to fight.

We all knew this was coming though. Some people in here have been throwing shade for the last 3 years and more than likely psyched themselves out before the movie released. They were never going to like it.

This isn't an abysmal movie. I enjoyed it, but I can see how some won't like it. At the very least it is an average to above average film. This isn't Catwoman, Fant4stic, or a Rob Schneider film. The criticism seems more acrimonious than it does constructive at this point.

Having not watched the film yet..

It does bother me that they piggybacked off of two great stories for this movie, when both would have made great isolated films.. Death of superman and dark knight returns

That is no excuses to simply dissect the film scene for scene looking for a logical action or answer.

I mean plenty of people here wants to talk how much they enjoyed it but one post and another (mainly you and osh) just shut them down and tells them how bad it is or you guys just litter the thread with the dumbest questions to the smallest details that really many just don't post.

Believe it or not but I actually want to talk about this film but it is pointless and haven't posted as much as I could because it is now dominated by hateful posts. Hey it's fine if you hate it, I am just not sure why you waste more time of your life fighting others who like it why they should hate it?

I am also not telling you guys to stop because it isn't my place and you are free to discuss as much as you want but it definitely has hindered me and others from posting the way we want to about the film.

And yes others are going to say, "oh well, sorry, i am not going to change, blah blah blah" but hey that's how you guys win at these arguments, just don't let those who like it breathe until really only you guys are the ones left to post. Not everyones got the energy and time to respond and defend something they liked because the negativity posted by a handful of people (who I do think is in the minority in this thread who just bash and bash and bash non-stop) i simply overwhelming.

Wouldn't be the first Snyder film I did this with (sucker punch)..

Hell, I enjoy the opening and forest scene from that gawd awful 2nd transformers movie and I hate Michael bay.. I'll watch those if I happen to catch it right at those points when the movie is on




My expectations are low for this film, so maybe that's one thing it has got going

Pacing gets better imo second time

The superman floating scenes are pointless, but that's what you get with Snyder.

then talk about the film with people who enjoyed the film

there were people hating on GOTG, AoU, force awakens but they all got shut down by people who really enjoyed the movie because there was more good than bad to talk about.

people came into the starwars thread trying to nit pick the movie and they got hit with essays on why they were being irrational and hating for no reason

there is none of that in this thread because you cant defend this huge pile of garbage. if it was actually a good movie you would be able to say "actually this happened because of XYZ" but rather its just "i dont know why these things happened in the movie either but JUST TURN OFF YOUR BRAIN AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE"

this is the internet, people love arguing and fighting about pointless things. yet for this movie the problems are so blatant that no one even bothers defending it anymore, rather resorting to "stop being mean"

That movie was fire...starts slow but is best since I've seen star wars last December...
