Bald NTers Enter vol. I'm joining the ranks

If you want to bow out gracefully, then follow this, takes a couple tries but it worked like a charm for me.

Get a T-outliner or mustache trimmer of whatevs and line your hairline up.

Then get a pair of head clippers, no guard. Push the lever all the way to the shortest length and buzz your head.

the result will be that kobe-esque look where you have barley enough hair to count but it's not completely bald. The key is because you lined yourself up before you buzzed your hair you'll have a semi-crisp line without making your hairline look bad because you have so little hair on your head that you cant tell.

After you do that for a couple weeks, people will gradually think that you cut your hair that low on purpose and when you decide to actually shave your head, it will be a seamless transition because your hair is so low that people barely look twice.

As far as the ladies? You guys need to let that insecurity go. How many times you see a good lookin chic with a ok looking dude with hair? Chic's BARELY care about hair. If you look good you look good. Dress nicely, get your *** in the gym, and be confident.

Saw this on MSN and thought of my balding NT brethren. http://living.msn.com/love-relationships/love-sex/7-reasons-its-awesome-to-date-a-bald-man

It may not be something that anyone wishes for, but for a lot of men (about 50 percent), hair loss is a reality. At first, it can be tragic, depressing, a horrible reminder of immortality, but once a guy realizes it's just a fact of life, and learn to own it, they become even more of a catch than they ever thought possible.

Yes, gentlemen, your bald heads are sexy; and yes, ladies, especially those of you who never considered it, dating a bald guy has some perks of which you probably never even thought.

More from Your Tango: What Women Really Think ... Of Bald Guys

1. They Save Big Bucks On Hair Products
Hair products are expensive! And depending on what look you're going for, the event, the season, and the length, the amount of products someone uses at one time can be a lot. So, if that's the case, a guy with no hair will have more cash for hot, fancy dates. Top shelf martinis for all!

2. Their Sex Drive Is Like "Whoa"
So this theory has yet to be totally proven nor totally debunked, but allegedly, the more testosterone a man has, the thinner his hair, but also, the higher his sex drive. I guess this is where we weigh what’s more important: hair or sexy times?

3. Other Physical Assets Are More Noticeable
Pearly whites? Long eye lashes? Dimples? Baby blues? While all these lovely assets probably can’t be missed on a guy with a full head of hair, when it comes to bald guys, these things "pop" even more. Stripping head hair from the situation does to a guy’s facial features, what mascara does to our eyes: emphasizes them.

4. Their Chance Of Prostate Cancer Is Lower
Studies have found that guys who go bald earlier in the game are 45 percent less likely to get prostate cancer than those who rock a full head of hair for the majority of their lives. If that isn't a major plus, I don't know what is.

More from Your Tango: Gift Ideas For Boyfriends: 10 Ideas For Even The Pickiest Of Guys

5. They're Better At Sports
Whether or not this is an important asset in a dude is probably up for debate depending on the lady. But, as my male friends have pointed out to me time and time again, all the greatest athletes are bald: Kevin Youkilis of the Red Sox, tennis champ Andre Agassi, Celtics' Kevin Garnett, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and of course, Michael Jordan, just to name a few. Why is this? Maybe the lack of hair makes them speedier? Either way, we can add this to the list.

6. They're Low Maintenance
If your guy gets up late, you don't have to worry about that 30-minute hair ritual that some dudes need every morning to just get out the door. In addition to that, you'll never have to answer the annoying question of "How's my hair?" again.

7. They Master How To Wear A Hat
No one can wear a hat like a bald guy. It's as if once that hair is gone, they suddenly can pull off wearing a hat and not look like an idiot. If you're lucky enough to date a baldy, then you're about to get a lesson in how to perfectly rock a hat — finally! You know you've been waiting your whole life to learn the secrets behind it.

#2 :pimp: Rather be bald and staying in them guts than a full head of hair with a average sex drive.

Yessir. My mom sides so my cuzzos on that side all baldies. It's our "family curse" yet we're all cool with it since we've always shaved our heads with clippers for the longest. The saying goes that if your mom's dad was bald you will be bald.
That saying is an old wives tale that has been debunked by science. Your hair isn't dictated by only one parent; it's determined by both parents.

My hair is thinning on top. It sucks because it's thinner around the crown of my head. But I've accepted it and comfortable with the thinness. I just keep my hair at medium length to make it look fuller.

look at it this way, most guys that i know that are balding can grow awesome beards. Kobe it like Calypso said and beard the F out

Only reason why I haven't tried it yet.Id be late everyday to work with cuts all over my dam head!!! Anyone have an app I can use to see myself bald?

I'm turning 33 this year and every summer for the past 3 years I've said this is the year I'ma shave it all off. This summer I'ma really do it.

A little help for y'all:
Along with many other benefits of olive oil, it can also help in hair growth, preventing hair loss, keeping the scalp healthy, eliminating dandruff and regaining lost hair. Olive oil contains vitamin A and E which are very important for hair to strengthen its strands. Using olive oil on the scalp feeds the hair with these vitamins and stimulates the hair follicles.

Sufficient blood to the scalp ensures healthy growth of hair. If the follicles are clogged up, they may not receive sufficient supply of vitamins and other nutrients which may result in loss of hair, dandruff and dryness. A light massage of the scalp with olive oil may stimulate and recondition the scalp. This will increase blood supply to the scalp and essential nutrients to hair.

A hormone called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) decreases the hair follicle shaft which can cause hair loss. DHT makes the hair thin, and with the passage of times the hair becomes thinner and thinner until they die out. An increased production of DHT means thinning and dying out of existing hair and no growth of any future hair.  When olive oil is applied to the scalp, it reduces the chances of DHT production and thus can prevent hair loss. The oil is also rich in antioxidants and can promote healthy environment in the scalp forest. It also contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which can eliminate flakes, dandruff and even lice.

How to Use Olive Oil to Stop Hair Loss?

Method 1
  1.  Wash your scalp to remove any impurities. Use light herbal shampoo for the wash.
  2.  Apply olive oil to your hair and massage gently. Make sure the oil reaches the roots of the hair and surface of the scalp.
  3.  Leave for one hour and wash it again with herbal shampoo.
  4. Apply minox 5% at bed time.
  5. Use 100% aloe-Vera gel for styling.
Method 2
  1. Mix a few drops of peppermint, rosemary and sage oil
  2. Add in one tablespoon of olive oil
  3.  Massage into the scalp
  4. Wash with shampoo after 30 minutes
  5.  Repeat daily
Method 3
  1.  Mix 3 drops of cedar, 2 drops of sage, 2 drops of lemon and 2 drops of tea tree oil
  2.  Add 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  3. Apply to the scalp and massage.
  4. Wash after one hour
  5. Repeat daily
Method 4
  1. Take 2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and warm it up. (If you hair is pretty long like women hair, you may increase the amount to half a cup).
  2. Leave the warm oil for 5 seconds.
  3. Massage the warm oil into your scalp and hair
  4. Wear a plastic cap or a shower cap, or a thick towel for 30 minutes
  5. Wash with warm water. You may use a light shampoo
Is There any Scientific Evidence that EVOO Stops Hair Loss?

We see health and beauty markets with many products claiming to contain olive oil for increased benefits. The list of such products also includes many hair loss and hair growth products. In some cases, it might be only a marketing strategy to sell the products. Generally speaking, there is good evidence that olive oil is rich in Vitamin E, and other anti-oxidant and contains anti-inflammatory compounds which may help in certain skin conditions. But in relation to hair loss or growth, there is hardly any direct scientific evidence which shows that olive oil helps in hair growth or prevents its loss. All the reports over the internet, books and magazine regarding the effects of olive oil over hair are anecdotal and mainly depend upon the individual's experience. Although, there is a lack of scientific evidence, there is hardly any harm in trying the oil to see it works.

Started shaving my head a few months ago. I used to go to the barber every week. But then I found the Philips Headgroom. I highly recommend it to everyone. It shaves as close as a razor, easy to use, no shaving gel needed and doesn't leave any razor bumps.
I don't trust myself with a razor and it's impossible to cut yourself w this thing.

Sometimes I trip off it, but most times Im like F it, what can you do, right?

Luckily I got the full beard rockin so when I do take that leap of faith, I have a running start.

I just need to get my *** to the gym. Im sure itll be awkward at first, but holding on to them 3 lil hairs on your head

screams insecurity louder than just shaving that and embracing the bald.

Im giving Minoxidil a try, but I'm psyching myself up for when its time to go.

anybody wanna check the legitimacy of this thang? if its FDA approved this could be the answer to the bald problem
Intriguing.
Using 80 lasers that provide over 560 mW of low laser light therapy (LLLT), the helmet stimulates the scalp and hair follicles in a state of decline by increasing blood flow and microcirculation, improving cellular metabolism and protein synthesis to restore and maintain a healthy head of hair. The Theradome Laser Helmet LH80 PRO maximizes human hair growth when used twice a week for 20 minutes per session.
My only concern is if its safe for long-term use. 100 treatments it says for maximum results, and then what? You are still afflicted with the trait for baldness so you would have to use the helmet for the rest of your life. Electromagnetic waves bro? Cancer?

What happens with people suffering from androgenic alopecia, is DHT clogs the hair follicles on top of the head and the follicle dies. We have receptors that ring around our head which is why we don't bald on the sides and back. You have to block DHT but it usually means you are blocking testosterone as well since DHT is a byproduct of testosterone. That's why hair loss products typically make men lose their sex drive. What you want to do is keep DHT at bay while not messing with your testosterone levels. One such natural regimen is Nettle Leaf extract and Nettle Root extract taken together. Another thing to do, which is what this expensive helmet simulates, is massaging your scalp a few times a day. This will increase circulation and blood flow. You have to give it a deep 5-10 min. massage though, a simple rubbing will not suffice. This machine simply replaces the tediousness of that but also your hands are more harmless than lasers.

Olive oil is a natural DHT blocker. It also boosts testosterone. You get the best of both worlds. But if you apply it to your scalp you will just get the DHT blocking benefits which is a good thing in the case of balding.

I decided to finally make the jump in August to go bald..

It is a lot of upkeep but I enjoy my new look..a lot of people do too..i tend to shave it twice a week..would like to do it more cause I hate when it grows in..but I haven't found a good electric shaver yet..

I'll definitely try that best balder from Phillips..

I usually shave with a regular Schick 5 blade razor..and because the razor doesn't get that close..I go over it with my electric razor afterwards..it takes about 30 mins everytime..

What do you guys do to prevent leaving hair everywhere every time you shave? I put a towel over my sink, shave, then throw all the hair thats in the towel in the garbage. Is there any other methods you guys use cause my method gets messy at times.

I bought the castor oil. I've used it once already, but i might just use it regularly after I get a cut.

It's called the Philips Headgroom. You can get it on Amazon for like 30-40 bucks. You won't be disappointed and you'll save time on the upkeep

What about PRP injections for thinning hair? anybody know the legit-ness of those for thinning hair?

Bump!!

I'm about to come on home tonight fellas. I've been thinning for a while and today is my 30th birthday so I figured it's time to go ahead and do it.

I'm scared doe :frown:

Does this really work well or any other recommended electric shavers? Don't trust myself with a razor either and this would really make the transition to shaven much easier. I figure go to my barber tomorrow and shave it all off, then maintain the look with a pair of clippers like these. I've been getting a triple 0 cut every 2 weeks; my top is completely gone so it's time to go cue ball. I look good with hair and without hair so I can live with shaving my head. My homie encouraged me, telling me that the yambs would increase when I'm fully shaven instead of rocking the dreaded horse shoe cut :x :smh:. Thank God, I can grow a vicious, full beard.

ive heard good things about the headgroom but ive also heard that the balder razor foils are somewhat flimsy and a pain to replace if they break...

def cop a pair of balding clippers just in case as well...
