Riley Cooper is a FOOL!

Who is justifying him using the word in here?
Anyone who is implying that whites say it because black people "allow" them to say it is indirectly justifying it. You are a smart man. You can read the numerous examples in this thread. PLEASE stop playing dumb

That's the problem ...

I have read post after post after post in here which all state "I can use it because I'm black and you can't because you aren't".

Like why would anyone want to use such a degrading, dehumanizing, disgusting, grottiest, etc word?

I mean, please take a step and realize what you are saying - I can't say N(a) to another man because it's acceptable if it comes from a black man. If you aren't black you can't use it because it is a racial slur that was use on our ancestors to verbally oppress us, ridicule, belittle, etc us.

If you know what the meaning and intent of the word is, why do you continue to use it?

Come on now!

Wake the **** up!

is N(a) and N(er) different words ...
To me, NO. Same damn word.

I think the word was probably created by dialect. I have always thought this.

Southern white folks, calling black people that word ended up calling them , "N***a." They were still saying N***er but that southern dialect makes them end the word with an A.

The words are the same to me.

Always the same guys.

Same guys in the TM thread.

White people. Its not socially accepted by the masses to say the n word if you're white.

Out.

Rachel Jeantel disagrees.
But she is only talking for herself and not every black person in America. No teens, no one from her family or friends no one from her neighborhood. She is just speaking for herself  and herself only. Every other black person in America disagree.

At least that's what Magic1978 said!

Homie missed the nail completely. He clearly didn't understand there are multiple topics being addressed. And I did answer his question. 99% of white people don't want to say it. Those that do, do say it.

But it's cool for our black kids to use the word that has caused so much pain?

That's *** backwards.

Please forgive me if I think you sound like an idiot ...

Keko Jones please view this vid as to why there's a double standard with that word.

in the vid he says that black  people have the right to figure out what to do with the word, he does not say that he thinks blacks should be able to use it in everyday conversation (he is staying out of the discussion). keko is saying that as a black man he does not think it should be used in any shape or form

What exactly am I suppose to take out of that?

Just like his analogy of I can talk about my mother but you sure can't talk about my mother. Why would you want to talk about your mother even if you could?

Or is that not sinking in?

we as black people cant have nothing.  we took a word they used to denigrate us and turned it into a term of endearment towards each other. now that the meaning isnt the original meaning anymore, we (black people) all need to look back at the history of the word and now no one can use it smh

Exactly - these dudes be killing me thinking I'm taking sides and condoning the use of the word.

For the record:

1. I think the word should not be used by anyone even if they could.

2. I think Riley used it in a racists way and he will have to suffer everything that comes with it.

3. I do recognize that in today's society the word N(a) and N(er) is used different and hold different meaning depending on your location.

4. I can understand that a person born and raised in a geographical area (ie. NYC) where the majority of his friends are constantly using the word N(a) as a normal form of communication will adopt it and will not say in a racist way. Whether they are black/white/hispanics/asians.

I do not blame them for saying it, but I do blame the sources that have made the word socially acceptable.

Thanks for your time!

I want to see DCAll, Magic1978 and a few others come to your defense on this one. Since they had your back in the TM thread.

SMH!

If the word didn't hold any meaning why is Riley getting slaughter right now?

SMH!

P.S. N(a) and N(er) are different words depending on the context but I can assure you to many the word still holds the same meaning.

And reading Yahoo comments is something else. Just a haven for racism and ignorance. Makes me so disgusted.

You'd think Yahoo! would have enough money to hire someone to do some moderating. Either that or just shutdown the comment section altogether.

Turning off comments would lower the amount of traffic on their website, they aren't shutting those comments off man. They should though, but they probably secretly like it

The way he said it, it held the same definition as it's original intention.

What I'm saying that however you want to slice it, the way black people use to refer to each other as in "my *****" is a term of endearment that we are not allowed to have.

Discussing whether or not anyone should be able to use it is moot as people will say whatever they want on an individual basis, just as Riley did.

Reminds me of when Don Imus got caught calling those girls nappy headed ****...but then the discussion turned to hip hop music.

Oprah was wack for that.
