I fail to be impressed by any of his accomplishments. Capturing a meaningless one seed one season while failing to ever win a really significant playoff series. With a team that, for the east, has the talent to be where it is. Meh.

When the hell is the one seed ever meaningless?

The Lakers in the early 00s?

Power went out with about 4:00 minutes left in the Heat/Bulls games.

Came back on a little while ago, I see this thread jump about 8 pages and was like "Welp, the Heat lost.

Miami is really gonna let Indiana get by unscathed with their recent losing skid.

217-327

That's roughly about MDA's record without a prime Nash

He's had Kobe, Howard, Melo and Gasol during that time too

you could also say thibs has more defensive talent on his roster than dantoni ever had. gms build around their coaches, naturally chicago will sign defensive players over offensive players (opposite for dantoni)

D'Antoni coaches a top heavy roster that was riddled with injuries and made adjustments but somehow got to the playoffs in the west = Hasn't done squat and a bum
Thibs coaches a decent roster riddled with injuries into the playoffs in the east = one of the best coaches in the league

Lakers fans are DEFENDING D'Antoni? Is the world going to end?

Like I said earlier, guys like Brewer, Lucas, etc. all played better under Thibs. He knows how to get the most out of his team. Where's Ronnie Brewer now? JLIII? Omer Asik? They were better under Thibs because he utilizes his players' strengths...a part of the reason why Noah is beasting this year is because Thibs realizes he has that playmaking ability and that's why he's one of the primary ball handlers on the team at the moment. We've been deprived of offensive talent the past few years and still winning. Near the bottom of the league in offense and we're 3rd in the East without Derrick and Luol. Granted the East is terrible, but is that not impressive?

When the hell is the one seed ever meaningless? You're reaching my dude. OK he hasn't won a significant playoff series. Other than his first year here we have not had a #1 option with Rose being out. We've been ravaged with injuries. He's just had ****** luck is what it comes down to. But they were outclassed in the 2011 ECF, I'll admit that.

A one seed can absolutely be meaningless if you don't do anything with it. Especially if you're clearly not the best team in the conference when you get it.

The Chicago Bulls, as do other teams, charge more for a ticket to see the likes of Miami, OKC, Pacers, because those are "premium" games, as labeled by those to control ticket prices.

And i hate Miami more than any other team in the NBA.......so why wouldn't I enjoy this win a tad more than any other? However, beationg Miami today doesn't mean crap tomorrow. Miami puts themselves on such a pedastal, like the NBA world revolved around them. Yeah, they're the champs, and theres respect there, but god i hate that team soooooooooo god damn much.

there are at most 5 coaches that i see as a clear upgrade over dantoni (thibs is not one of them).

list of guys who have all played better under dantoni: nash, felton, steve blake, *insert entire 2014 lakers roster here*, a bunch of suns players

thibs has done a great job this year but its not anything too special

I can't believe they are actually comparing D'Antoni to the coaching genius of Thibodeau

Aren't you 4th in the east? Behind Toronto? I must have forgotten about Toronto's elite roster.

Behind a team whose GM literally wanted to tank this season. Maybe Dwayne Casey is the best coach in the league.

 for thinking that's comparable. Let's talk about TO's record last season then. Believe what you want dude. He is one of the best in the league, top 3 definitely. Naive if you think otherwise.

same season, same conference, same "lack of talent", same random players playing better than ever, same traded their starting sf mid season to tank

how is it not comparable?

I don't even think its the fans or the team for that matter that makes me dislike the bulls its just noah then when he starts to scream for securing a simple rebound or tip in and the fans start to cheer for him that's when the hate starts.

Because Casey's record is 110-160 over 4 seasons? Whereas Thibs has been coaching the same amount of time and is 192-101?
