Official Air Jordan XX9 post! 1st two released 9/6/14! NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING!

These to me are beautiful, especially in both of those black/red colorways which happens to be my favorite as I'm sure is the same for most. I really lke the fact they are actually continuing and improving upon the flight plate and "unleashed zoom air" from the XX8. I feel like Brand Jordan finally has some sort of direction again and actually great looking silouette . I mean I really enjoyed the XX8 and I'm really excited for these.

What exactly is updated with the Flight Plate, it seems that is not even a carbon fiber anymore, correct me if I am wrong, but looks like a regular TPU.

That midsole is like the lovechild of the 2012 and XX9. And the upper with no big jumpman is like an evolution from the 2012's upper.

Anyway something quick for the concord crowd:

Why must JB elephant print everything? These have serious potential in a non-elephant print colorway ijs.

Could definitely do without the OD elephant print or huge jumpman, but I'm all in with the design.

Just hoping this woven upper isn't a letdown and fuse reinforced

I could be wrong myself but the sole looks more plyable not as stiff as the XX8 was to me. Just judging by the pictures, the sole looks a little thicker as well which I'm assuming helps with that zoom bag popping issue some had with the XX8. Again I'm just seeing pictures but if they say its a flight plate/carbon fiber plate I have to assume it is, I really doubt they would put TPU on their newest signature model and for 200+ dollars.

I did not see anywhere on the inf to say they are using carbon fiber for the Flight Plate this time around, so I thing is cheep TPU.

O and btw that large Jumpman on the side with the red accents on a clear sole are piff, I don't know what some of you cats are talking about. Many complain about the Team Jordans, yet it sounds like that's what many of you want these to look like, bland and boring. Gimme both pairs of black and red XX9's please.

That video with TInker has him saying its there(Flight Plate) if I'm not mistaken and the description on the Jordan website as well, please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Dude, Flight Plate does not automatically mean Carbon Fiber!

This is the official info:

The Air Jordan XX9 also features the newest iteration of Flight Plate. Harnessing the energy of every step for explosive liftoff and optimal energy return, the evolved Flight Plate maximizes the responsiveness of the Nike Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel through the use of a Pebax[emoji]174[/emoji] moderator plate. The plate provides managed compression and deflection of the Nike Zoom Air cushioning units, creating a larger sweet spot for optimal performance. In this year’s shoe, the forefoot and heel are linked by a tendril - a small bridge of outsole - providing a smoother heel-to-toe transition.

TPU is BETTER imo since its just as flexible if not more flexible and doesn't crack as easy as carbon fiber. Especially the thin carbon fiber like the one used on the Lebron X Elites which has durablity issues. Also the flightplate system has ALWAYS been made of Pebax material not carbon fiber.

Guess we won't really know until we get them in hand, but as I stated before I highly doubt that they would use TPU on these. I mean TPU functions just as nicely as Carbon Fiber in my opinion, but I would rather Carbon Fiber to know I'm getting a high quality shoe.

Is the shoe ugly? No. But it's definitely a let down. Has been that way for a while though. I'll be passing with ease. Doesn't matter if they make them limited, glow in the dark, or any other gimmick they can use on the shoe. Not worth the $200+ price tag.

"TPU is BETTER" - Golden! Well the hell were all the performance auto companies thinking when creating all the carbon fiber details, or the aero constructors, putting it in the wings of planes, heck TPU FTW, and its even cheaper.
