I went with a 10.5 which is what I wear in just about every Retro I own. I think the XX9 fits a lot more snug than most retros though so I think you should be good with a 9.5. Then again I haven't balled in mine yet so my advice with a grain of salt.
 
I'm usually an 11 in Js and an 11 in these definitely has some wiggle room. Would prefer to have a 10.5 but can't return them at this point.
 
I am TTS in these. I tried .5 down and my toes can't straighten out before running out of room lengthwise.

wow really. i wear a 9.5 in retros n 9.5/10 in kobe 8. so idk if i should get the 9.5 or 10. Im working on good deal for the team orange pair in a 9.5
 
i know im kind of beating an old drum here, but Im incredibly frustrated at the wasted potential on this shoes. Outside of the Team Orange's I haven't really liked a color thats not a PE. I would love to scoop another pair of the 29s since my other ones had to be sent back, they're amazing basketball shoes but shhhhhheesh jordan brand needs to cook something up. 
 
Honestly, there are numerous performance and aesthetic issues with this shoe. I'd say let the fact that this thread is only so far 144 pages for a whole signature line while single Jordan retros can bubble up to several hundred pages be evidence.

If we're talking performance, many have stated that it was a regression on the XX8 while maintaining almost the same price. Aesthetically, besides the Photo Reels and BHM, they're a dud.

And if one is just looking for on court performance, you can go with cheaper options like the Brand Black, UA, etc.

It seems like sales are up in the land of the swoosh but the last wave of Sigs have been disappointing.

Hype racks up thread count, if you've been on here long enough then you should know that. Case in point, Melo's last 2 sigs have been performance and financial successes but only generate a dozen or so pages on a NT thread. Do you even own a pair of XX9s?
 
Never hooped in XX8s, but XX9s are the best shoe I've ever hooped in.

Mind you my only other performance ball sneaks have been the CP3.VI AE and Soldier VIIs, but these are so comfy and bouncy. My CP3s had much better traction, but I just prefer herring bone traction patterns.

Can't comment on lockdown too much since I still need to go another half size down but they're great nonetheless.
 
If we're talking paying retail for the XX9, I don't think it's worth it. Plenty of great options at a much lower price. But this is NT and you know people are going to post deals at some point.

I hopped on when that Nike clearance code popped up. At about $130 they are pretty much worth every penny. No issues for me so far and they're one of my top two in my rotation at the moment. I didn't like the XX8 much, but it's common to see people in both camps. Some are saying the Kobe X is better than the IX, some say the IX is better. All preference.
 
It is not only preference but also playstyle. If you land on your heels you may want something else. If you need that ankle support you should search elsewhere. I am the type to quickly jump into passing lanes and make hard cuts to the basket for easy points. I do wish these had a better heel counter but otherwise the xx9s are my top pick. Gonna pick up some Kobe xs soon and I hope they are better than the 9s to me. I'm a big fan of these flexible uppers like the xx9 and I like how my foot can bend without restriction.

Bought a pair of the Gym Red for $160 at FTA today. They price matched FTA online and then threw on the military. Guess that's my last pair of XX9s.

I wish I would've jumped on the Photo Reels when they were $300 on eBay. Now, fools trying to tax for a G.
 
When you see the all stars sitting for $150 and cop then a week later go back and they have another pair in your size for $99 sp you double up
