NFL Week 8 In Review...

It won't take four years for them to be comepetitve if the front office knows what they're doing. KC was a piss poor ball team last year. One coach and QB later and they're undefeated. A good QB can mask a lot of definicies. Ponder played well at times last year and it went a long way as to why they made the playoffs. It can happen again. What's going on right now is a snowball effect. It happens all the time and teams bounce back in the next year all the time.

Do you think it takes the Skins four more years to be back in the fold? Probably not and they have more holes than the Vikings. One big difference...Vikings don't have anything close to a quarterback capable of masking any deficiencies. RGIII isn't playing his best right now, but his future still gives everyone all the reason to believe Washington will be contenders.

Fair points.

What's the plan for the Vikings, though? How do you solve the QB problems? Free agency...draft...what?

They could easily have a top 5 pick . In this draft they have a good shot to draft a franchise QB

Are you insinuating that Alex Smith is a good QB?

KC has yet to play at team over .500

We'll see how they play against Denver

KC is probably toast if Denver gets a 3 td lead, but Peyton has been getting extra pressure on him the past 2 weeks, and KC's defense is tops. Should be a very good game.

Dland: He's efficient. What I'm saying is KC has had a very good defense the last few years. Talent on their team, but bad QB play. On offense now they're holding onto the ball. Last year Cassel and crew were turning it over. Stable, even if not dramatic, quarterback play can go a long way.

They aren't winning the SB with Smith, but there a whole helluva lot more competitive with him.

Depends what pick they get and if their guy is there at that spot and who the availabe FA's are. I haven't thought that far ahead, but there will be options.

It hurts to say this but Megatron might just go down as the greatest wideout in NFL history. He already has more 200+ receiving games than Jerry Rice had in his whole career I believe.

Imagine if he had legit QB's not just in the pros but in college.

QFT

His game yesterday was special to us fans... something that we can remember years gone by.

Plus his class is much respected. :pimp: Something about not acting like a typical WR diva like TO, Moss, Desean, Cruz, Dez, etc... is very much appreciated.

^ just saw that. Keyshawn was out of control though. Sounded like an idiot.

Dallas is the first team in NFL history to allow four different teams to throw for over 400 yards against them in one season :smoking

I'm more annoyed at the fact that when Tom Brady throws a temper tantrum, he's a leader. When Starscream does it, he's a cancer. Passion is passion, period. These guys don't like to ******g lose.

Double standards FTL.

How are you admonishing double standards though? Weren't you one of the dudes who said tom has a resume, isnt comparable, etc. When I asked why is it different for jay?

The reason I want the Lions to win something ASAP is that I don't think Calvin plays 20 years like Jerry.

Calvin is a hard worker but the reason he is what he is that he's physically the most gifted to ever play the position. As he ages I don't know if he will be able to do what he does now and he takes hits other WRs don't take. When have you ever seen him run out of bounds really?

Thought he was about to snuff Jaws and Tim for a second

"STAWWP IT..JUST STAWWWWP"

Keyshawn was a whiner so I expected him to support one. Being passionate doesn't mean you can act like a damn kid and lash out anyway you want. Take Romo to the side and have a convo with him. Work with him, don't yell at him.

You can tell who are the young cats in here for people to state that Calvin will go down as being better than Jerry Rice.

Jerry Rice's work ethic is and always will be UNMATCHED, period. This is coming from a guy who hates the 49ers with a passion due to the fact that my brother is a die hard 49ers fan and is the reason I'm a cowboys fan to begin with. Jerry Rice was not physically gifted; Jerry Rice did not have top end speed; but the guy MASTERED the WR position and caught EVERYTHING.

A lot of what Calvin is doing is based on his talent and natural physical gifts (6'5 240?). That's not to take ANYTHING away from Calvin because he is at this point undisputed the best WR in the league. However, he has a VERY long ways to go before we start making the assumption he will go down as being better than Jerry Rice.

Lets see what happens when age catches up to him and some of his natural gifts start to slip and he loses a step.

Despite my antics about The Rapist (Kobe), this is one thing I've always admired about him. As he got older, he realized he couldn't do the things he could normally do and started to perfect his craft in other ways to make up for his natural abilities starting to slip.

not to cause controversy, but there seems to be a bit of a racial divide with regard to who sees bryant's actions as detrimental to the team vs him being passionate

i don't necessarily agree with bryant's behavior, but the "analysts" and sports mouthpieces lining up to defend the actions of prominent white players is pretty apparent

bryant isn't really a leader in the sense that someone like brady is, but at the same time viewing him as a loudmouth, selfish and/or reckless teammate kind of bothers me
