Snowboarders Please Enter..

It's funny how big snowboarding clothes used to be.

I'll admit I used to wear the really baggy DuB ensemble back in the day. haha I've definitely slimmed it down since then. What I can't get into however are those really tight skinny bell bottom snowboard pants. I seen them a lot here in California.

Yeah they're poppin here too. I don't even rock snowboarding stuff except my analog pants. They are just normal sized not super slim.

no lie I still have baggy pants only because I'm trying to find some slimmer denim snowboarding pants and I'm trying to save money and havent been looking. straight L's

They were 686s at XL size. I've been lost weight too

Man I wouldn't get those sambas if that's the adidas you're talking about. No one gets those plus the toe box is od big.

jewelknows jewelknows ^ cosign. after doing research, i think the consensus from the snowboard community is that Adidas boots arent up to par with other brands.

These Nike's are super comfy, fit perfectly TTS for me and are within my budget ($120). These are my first boots ever so i can only compare them to rentals.

I copped from the Spark, NV nike outlet (775) 358-7871. If they have your size, they'll ship. Better cop now because Nike recently shutdown their snowboard program

Nice! I'll hit them up! Have a name or item#?

I was looking at the shell toe(superstars) boots. They're one of my fave kicks which is one of the reasons. But those Nike boots are clean too. Of course I'll take function over form of anyone here recommends a brand.

Nike boots are good though. I know a few guys riding them and like them. I'd roll with thirty two or vans.

Which Nikes are they, Kaijus? They are red right? Colors of the photo just look a little off.

they look like vapens. i have a pair love/hate. sometimes comfortable, lacing system is horrible, terrible for cold weather conditions, wet and snow days. perfect for spring skiing. too big and bulky with too much overhang. they were $70 on ndc.

yup theyre Vapens. ^ ok $70 is more of a steal lol. Wish i got into snowboarding earlier.

when's the best time to buy a board/bindings in your guys experience? like with the best deals?

View media item 1881833These are mine. Should be Vapens. Got them '12 or '13 it's been a while. I have to check myself that I am on NT and release dates get people riled up on here. Bought them retail when they did come out. Love the laces on them. Had Vans with the turn knob on it but didn't end up liking them.

View media item 1881836Only had an hour to board today because of some house fixing here in Tahoe but was worth it. I have a Ride 158W board I bought off a friend for about $50 like 5 years ago. Flux bindings. Yes they are lakers colours even though I'm not into basketball like that. Bro's bindings and the one I bought were exact same just different colour ways. A yellow one broke so I swapped it out for the purp.

Always buy off season. Which naturally would be summer so stores and online get rid of their '15 stock to make room for the new '16 stuff.

MPLS nothing wrong with the board side just looks like you're going .2mph [emoji]128557[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

I'm guessing you're from the Bay.

M4rioL is right about buying off season but I'm going to say look for past seasons gear online and buy it now. We're having the best ski season in 20 years because of El Niño and I can see it lasting til May. There's no guarantee that it'll be anything close to what we're getting this year next season. Look at how bad it's been the last 5 yrs. don't wanna see you buy gear and not be able to use it. Especially if you have to rent gear.

Too late, especially after this blizzard. I would say I've found a lot of luck on CL. I copped a wood core DT for $20 one time last fall, I couldn't believe it. Bindings pretty much stay the same price all year round. Try Ebay.

late march/april spring break. doesn't matter if the season continues to May, places like evo, rei, backcountry transition to spring/summer sports gear like biking, camping, water sports and they need to clear their warehouses and retail stores.

I see boards online for 40-70% off right now and I don't think you're going to find a better deal than that come March/April. It's been a while since I shopped for gear but most places don't just discount everything 50% right off the bat. They'll probably start off with 20-25% and gradually bump it when the good stuff is gone. Doesn't make sense to wait especially if you're renting.

Plus we haven't had a decent season in 5 years. It would suck to buy a board and have it sit in the closet. When was the last time we got 13" of fresh snow in 48 hrs and 100" base in Tahoe?

I bought all my equipment in mid March and remember saving damn near 60% off on everything.

I used the BOA system for the first time yesterday and it's the BEST way to put on boots. Never been so much easier to put on and take off boots. I love the design too.

I'm also looking into getting the Burton Cartels. They've gotten AWESOME reviews!

I copped these boots and bindings when dude originally posted them a couple years ago and I haven't looked back since. I love riding in them and they're still practically brand new.

Evo. Com always had a ton of sales. But honestly if you can get used that would be the better way.

Hit double black diamond today like a boss. Thought I was gonna die but nope lol

MetalMario MetalMario

 I pretty much was. It was pouring rain. Riding on slush. The park was closed so they put a box on the bunny hill  pics from the same day. Straight garbage even by mn standards. Was fun doing presses through the mud I guess.

Yeah cartels are dope bindings. I ride super cartel with a few malavita parts. Malavita baseplate and a different high back. My favorite bindings ever not getting new ones anytime soon. Too damn comfortable.
