If this is the wrong forum, i apologize! (this is not a 'for sale' post)

I am long time niketalk user but this is my first time posting in years (my old account was so old it was deactivated?). I am looking for some legitimate advice. I have been out of the buy/sell game for a long time but I recently acquired some rare sneakers that should fetch a large sum (in the thousands). I have never sold a pair for this much money so i am a little nervous and want to do the kicks justice as well as make sure its a safe and secure transaction (and of course net the most amount of money possible). I guess ebay is the obvious choice but the thought of those fees on such a large item sucks.

So besides, ebay, craigslist, and of course the niketalk forum. Does anyone have any advice on how to sell a pair of rare sneakers?

only other thing is go to a dunkxchange / sneakercon / SOE type event.

you may not fetch what you want though. lots of people are shopping for deals there. but if its true head you'll get it.

Looks like i am going to go the ebay route, does anyone have any tips in terms of selling a high dollar shoe?

- Ship with insurance and tracking

- Verified paypal

I know it's not 'allowed' but is it common to take offers from people who contact me via my auction and then take it offline to avoid fees?

Any tips/stories/etc would be greatly appreciated!

Yea man, I'd run it through paypal.  they charge 3%..ebay is like another 10%...so post it on ebay. say your buy it now is $5,000..tell them Paypal invoice is $4,500...get signature confirmation, insurance, ect through usps

Always pay for signature confirmation and only ship to parties/address' verified by PayPal. Good luck!
