Also if you plug directly into your ethernet, that'll give you a couple of seconds ahead of some people just on wifi/tethering.

I was up all night for the TD release... Man that was the ultimate struggle.
Striking out site after site was too frustrating.
Don't feel bad bro ... You weren't alone. Had me looking crazy ... Went through my piff stash by 8 a.m. ... Was breaking up clips by 10 a.m., then gathering roach clips by 12 pm ... After that, I finally knocked out. Know how hard it is to stay awake in bed when you are tired

ping there only means the time it takes for the signal to get from your comp to the ISP and back, you wan to "ping" or "tracert" the site you will be accessing to get a useful number

I think speed has something to do with it. When I tried to get the turtle doves, adidas.com didn't update from the coming soon page to the buy page for at least 5 minutes, which I heard was another complaint for other Bay Area people. I think that largely has to do with internet speed. Our only ISP out here, Comcast, is known to suck sh*t.
