did anyone here try preordering the puma balotellis? i'm not sure him leaving nike and possibly/probably leaving milan shortly is helping out his image in terms of stability before the world cup.

Any good shin guard sleeves out there on the market? I just noticed the shin guards I bought months ago only came with one. :smh:

To be honest, I'm disappointed in those 02 and 06 Vapors. The colors are not quite close to the OGs. I should have just bought those Fireberry MV9 for the low when I had the chance |I

From last year's thread.

I forgot to post this when I first heard the news, but Mizuno football boots are now available to purchase here in the US. They were difficult to purchase before, often having to buy them from European sites. The "Made in Japan" pairs were even more difficult to acquire, but the website also has them for sale.

The Wave Ignitus are similar to the now extinct T90 silo. I wanna try a pair of Morelia Neo's :nerd:

I'm sure the FIGC and the fact that they just signed a new deal with Puma to continue being their kit sponsor had something to do with him signing.

I'm not sure how you feel about something like this type of shin guard sleeve. I'm waiting for the company to restock youth medium so I can get them for my son. They're supposed to get back in the YM early to mid February.

hhmmmm interesting

A couple of the older guys at my son's club wear those shin guard sleeves because they grew tired of taping & having to buy tape.

interesting idea. i can guarantee that nike or adidas will make their own version in the next couple of years simply because it's another way to make more money off of injury-conscious parents. it would be cool if they made the product without the stirrup.

for sleeves, i've been using the cheapo soccer.com brand sleeves for more than 5 years now. they're better than the ones that nike includes with its guards. my only complaint is that they tend to get lost in the washing machine because they're so thin, but that's my problem. make sure you get a darker color that'll hide stains. here's a link for them: http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Ne=0&N=4294960224+545&Product_Id=27300

as for ankle protection, i've been using the nike ankle shields for more than 10 years. they stopped selling them in the US around 2007-ish, so i stocked up and ordered about 5 pairs from the UK. a quick google search makes it look like some UK retailers still have them. i can't recommend them enough, and everyone asks me where i got mine because they want them. i wear bladed studs about 80% of the time, so if i don't wear the ankle shields i end up cutting my own ankles. they're perfect for training because you can go without shinguards and still have sufficient protection by just wearing the ankle guards with quarter socks. i can't stand the feel of stirrups, so i simply cut them off.

there seem to be a different model of nike ankle shields on ebay, but to me they look like the ones that are packaged with nike shin guards. those are much, much thinner than the ones that i have and don't offer as much protection.

combined with the shin guard sleeves, my guards almost never move an inch, even after going to ground or a rough tackle. no tape, no guard stays. it's one of those feelings where i really think i've found the ideal setup.

^ damn, great work from the design team for the citizens' pair. the rest are just ok. i picked up an arsenal pair one size up so that i could stuff another pair of gloves inside it. it helps with this ultra cold weather we're getting.

Cesc in the Puma mentioned above, Neymar in the popular colorway of the Hypervenom

Adriano in another new Hypervenom colorway.

It's amazing that in this day and age company's like Nike and Adidas for all the show boating they do with their "technological" advancements - football players are still cutting there socks and taping them. Lol. Unbelievable.

I hope these small company's with shin sleeves and products like trusox have patents!! Get your money since nike and Adidas can't come up with ideas!

I wonder why they are changing the CTR silo after all I'm pretty sure it's nikes most popular boot.

LOL right? Nike gotta stop with those stupid gimmicky Elite socks and actually put some effort into innovation.

I think it's second to the Mercurial line but not by that much. I'm not so sure why they are discontinuing the silo, I've heard so many good things about the boot. I have to get me 2 pairs of different colorways before they go out of stock everywhere.

*NOTE: For anybody considering the CTR360, go up half a size as they do run small.*
