I don't know why you guys keep saying Ray's acting was bad. He played the role perfectly for how Jesus was supposed to be in the movie. Actually, most of the time it seemed like Ray wasn't really trying to act but was just being himself, I think that's why the role worked so well for him and why it is a cult classic.

i didn't mind rays acting, it was realistic. I like realistic characters, not ones that are always od confident, charismatic, and heroic. most people in real life aren't like that.
