Air Jordan Future Featuring xi sole 2014

man these would have been an easy pass if it wasn't for those lace tips, crazy how little touches like that changes everything.  How much do you guys think I would have to put on top to trade my infrareds for the glows.

depending on size...you could do shoe for shoe

you should probably cough up the money and have both, though

This.

I know the resell prices are FAR from what I expected, but I wouldn't trade one for another.  I know for me personally, I'd eventually to want to complete the set of two, then have to go back and pay out of pocket again for the Infrared's (potentially @ an even higher  price).  There's gotta be something in your closet you'd be willing to part w/ to try and get both...again...just my opinion.

Couple "on feet" pics.  Yes, crappy cell phone pics, and yes #NTDenim.  I have no fashion sense...I'm the first to admit it.

I see prices dropping ... even at $185 for a pimped out jordan roshe wanna-be is crazy...

Just wait on the price drop or restock.

yea you're both right, I'll try to get the glows in addition but it's just so bizarre that at this price I should be copping another pair of balenciagas or common projects you know?

I get ya....but buy/wear what you like.  While there are obvious market trends...it's still ultimately up to us (the consumer) on what we place the value at (at least in terms of the aftermarket).

The argument that I've heard over and over and over again in this thread is "I can get a pair of DS SJs for that price".  Yea...you can, but you could have gotten a pair for 1/2 that price 3 years ago...or for retail w/ just minimal effort (compared to what it takes now to get anything on RD) in '09.  I think those making those arguments (and I'm not directing this @ you slick), seem new to the entire Jordan scene.  Those of us who have't collected for awhile, HAVE a pair of Jams (or multiples).

If I had to chose between a pair of Futures, and Breds/SJs and could only chose one...I'd still pick the XIs, but that doesn't mean I would rather have a 5th pair(have doubles of both '00s, and '09s) of SJs then 1 pair of Futures.  Just because you can buy one shoe for one price, doesn't mean you have to.  Apples and Oranges.

TL:DR:  Buy/wear what you like

Good luck @slick  hope you can find a pair for a decent price!

great post, haha I agree with most of what you've said, and I know you weren't directing at me but my example is a little different as I was basing my comparisons off quality of materials and worksmanship.  But yea apples and oranges, and definitely always just buy what you like.

Yea, if were going on quality alone...stay FAR away from any JB release from '02-present

These are actually really nice in person, and the quality is far above your average numbered retro. I can't comment on the entire Rosche comparison because I don't own (or even held) a pair, and the two examples you gave because I haven't even SEEN a pair of balenciagas, and to be honest, don't know what "common projects" are.

I've made the comment, "I'm not a shoe head, I'm a Jordan head", and it's pretty true. I'm sure I've missed out on many nicer quality shoes over the years, simply because of my loyalty to the brand. Goes back to watching MJ play...has never been about fashion to me...more about childhood memories of watching a dude "fly", and thinking I could do the same simply by wearing a specific shoe.

I was glad to see JB doing something new, because as much as I love a pair of Playoff XIs...I don't want to see them for the 17th time. The EXT lines on the Lebron has always stuck out because you CAN make a lifestyle version of an otherwise basketball shoe. I'm glad JB branched out and came out with these. It's the perfect shoe for someone like myself who can relate to the origins of the model (XI sole) and appreciate the NSW feel to it.

no these are definitely solid quality that's why in my case I wouldn't have preferred the SJ's to these anyway in your example. I get everything you're saying and you coulda just made a tl;dr i love mj.   Haha I'm just messing with you, it was a good read. Those other shoes that you don't know are just "classier",  clean sneaks with much better materials.  At the end of the day though... we have too many freaking pairs of shoes, and yet it's still it's not enough. Also, F reseller prices.

even with better/different material is it still worth the initial $200 after tax?

The question is relative to the discussion lach and I were having. It's pretty much worth however much you like em, to me it is.
