My thoughts from Sunday

    • I really hope MM is ok.
    • I can't say the offense looks terrible without noting that the line can't even allow Kaep to set up!
    • If the line will be in flux for a while, can Roman dial up more screens?
    • JMartin didn't look too bad, but what's going on with Iupati?
    • Get Boone back....
    • Hyde :pimp:...Vance too.
    • Lynch :pimp:...word to @red80
    • I'm looking forward to Roman incorporating Ellington into the offense.
    • I thought LMJ was decent when he was featured...great blitz pickup especially.

Iupati was the worst player on the field in the first half of yesterday's game.  He needs to have a really good season if he expects to be extended.

Yes he was. I wonder if it's a case of him still regaining strength in the leg (broken fibula) or mental. He needs to play a lot better...period.

Pleasantly surprised that JMartin didn't allow a QB pressure.

there was a short run yesterday where he was smashing through people, running ************* over and moving the pile. he's a bad, bad man with a cocky *** swagger that fans will love, but rival teams will despise. hyde jerseys will be everywhere by midseason.

I guess the only positive is that he should be available somewhere around midseason.

obviously would rather hear about no injuries at all but this is good news. Thought it was ACL from the way it looked.

Let him take aslong as he needs; we dont need him right now. We knew it was going to be a long recovery process with the possible chance of Lattimore never playing football again.

With that said how amazing does the pick of Hyde look now? Dude has looked like a straight up beast in preseason and a true heir to Frank's throne. We would be going into the regular season with just Frank and LMJ if it wasn't for that pick.

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that they have waived the following seven players: quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, safety D.J. Campbell, tight end Kevin Greene, running back Jewel Hampton, punter Colton Schmidt, linebacker Kion Wilson and wide receiver Devon Wylie. The team also released wide receiver David Reed.

Additionally, the 49ers placed running back Marcus Lattimore, fullback Trey Millard, cornerback Keith Reaser and guard Brandon Thomas on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List. Linebacker NaVorro Bowman, tight end Garrett Celek and defensive tackle Kaleb Ramsey were placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List.

The 49ers also released linebacker Blake Costanzo from the Injured Reserve List.

The 49ers roster currently stands at 75 and must be trimmed to 53 by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

So far so good... Nobody I want to stay got cut :pimp:

Thanks jumpmanfromdabay jumpmanfromdabay , keep us posted!

How Dontae Johnson and Jimmie Ward looking?

Ward and Reid could be a lethal safety combo in the NFC West. Allow Niners fans to forget about Hitner.

Jimmie Ward is all over the place; dude is a pesky little ******. One of my biggest pet peeves are DBs who cant open field tackle and Jimmie has shown he excels at it. He had a nice INT last sunday too:

BTW Aaron Lynch with the tip on that INT. Lynch put his talent and elite measurables on display last sunday with 4 tips(1 lead to a INT) and a sack. Crazy how effortlessly he manhandles tackles. #Lynchmobb might end up being the steal of the entire draft.

Dontae Johnson has shown up here and there with some notable plays, but is still really green. I know he had a couple plays that stood out to me the game prior to last sunday, but I didn't see much of him in the recent game. His size at CB is hard to miss dude is big as ****.

Bruce Ellington looks like he's been in the league for years and Carlos Hyde has everyone locally infatuated.

Entire rookie class looks really good from Jimmie Ward to Carlos Hyde to Marcus Martin. It's looking more and more like this will be Trent Baalke's greatest draft class to date. Hopefully their promise carries over to the regular season.

Hitner has already been forgotten about.  People overrate him because of his ability to light someone up with a huge hit.  He simply is not that good.  Bethea had a poor season to his standards last season, but I think at worst he is AS good as Whitner....but realistically a little bit better.

^I'm glad we let Whitner walk. He was practically guaranteed to cost us a 15 yard penalty every game just off of his reputation alone. I'm fan of Bethea, he has more range out there, and i think thats what we needed.

Ward looks like he's secured nickel CB duties. Definitely looks quick out there and just needs experience now.

Later in the season I'll be more confident in a Ward/Reid/Bethea group than Rogers/Reid/Whiffner
