I continue to hear Chip Kelly is more enamored with trying to resurrect Blaine Gabbert's career than he is with any of the perceived top quarterbacks in this draft
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...-no-1-deal-while-desperate-rams-risk-too-much

i hope my projection for whomever the rams take, whether wentz or goff, is entirely off. goff or wentz lighting us up for the next decade.

I do have a feeling, chip is going to go with Gabbery and try to get a rookie qb in 3rd+ rd

Defense needs help up front so that's why I see the Buckner/Jack realistic

ronnie stanley reminds me so much of kwame harris.

i hate his timid demeanor. i want some nasty ************* with bully mentality in the trenches.

Dude I hate Ronnie Staley after watching more tape he has excellent feet but zero bully in him and his strength is below average.

I'd be happy with Myles Jack, Deforest Buckner, Vernon Hargreaves at 7 but really want a trade down with a team like Miami move back to 13.

So blown was at work when I heard the Rams moved up to 1 but we need to just add D line/ O line This draft is what a lot of experts are calling a meat and potatoes draft(great O and D line prospects).

Rams ****** any chance of the niners getting Wentz/Goff smh, looks like it will be either Connor Cook or Lynch

Hope Cowboys fall in love with Bosa. Hopefully Bosa don't fall to us. Feel like he's the WORSE case scenario. Would be happy with either Buckner Jack Tunsil or Ramsey. Preying to the gods somehow someway Ramsey falls to us.

I don't know enough about our defense, Jim o'neil and the scheme he runs. Does he run zone? What kind of zone? Spot dropping, pattern matching? Is he man guy? A press man guy or a bail man guy? Trail guy?

Jalen Ramsey is a best suited in press-man scheme corner. As a safety, I have no interest in him since we have four guys that can play safety, 3 of which were drafted in the last few seasons.

I know Buckner fits the scheme. :D

I'm happy with either Ramsey jack or Buckner. Would rather see Ramsey at corner honestly.

How would you feel red if Bosa falls to us :x

I can honestly see with our luck Bosa falling to us. In my mind all 6 players mocked above us are better prospects than Bosa.
Ramsey
Tunsil
Jack
Wentz
Goff
Buckner
7 is such a ****** number to be picking at this year. Knew Tomsula was an idiot for winning that OT game vs the Rams. :smh:

why joey bosa might not be a bad pick after all....
[/h1]

i've warmed up to joey bosa. like everyone else, i can fall victim to seeing things only as black and white.

after revisiting his tape and some out-of-box thinking, i can see this guy playing a very unique role on our team...

bosa is a monster in the run game. he plays with very advanced hand technique and leverage. he's got the type of grown man strength that translates to the NFL. hands naturally heavy like mike tyson. dude is a hammer in the run game.

this is textbook run defense

engage your man with hands inside
extend and get that long arm
squeeze down the line(this is so important! sliding down while simultaneously engaging his man)
shed the block
make the tackle

now, my knock on bosa was his ability to rush from the edge...i wish he was little more twitchy, a little bit more flexible, and had a little more closing speed. bosa is quick, but it's more of a straight-line quickness.. you guys know i love first step explosiveness. it's the first thing i look for in a pass rusher.

so, i was a little down on Bosa exclusively as a pass rushing OLB...

and then it dawned on me: he doesn't have to live on the edge.

ohio st used him inside a lot in their sub packages, and he had a lot of success, too. in ohio st's sub packages, bosa rushed inside as a 3 technique(4-3 defensive tackle). the kicker? we use 3 techniques in our pass rush packages, too.

bosa can play a VERY unique role in our defense as an OLB that doubles as a DT. he can live as the OLB hammer in base downs where he sets a concrete wall at the edge, and when it's time to go nickel, bosa can slide inside as an interior pass rusher. we can mix it up and keep him on the edge, too. gives our DC some flexibility to get creative.

we desperately need that interior pass rusher that demands double teams. we need someone to free up guys like aaron lynch and give them favorable one-on-one match ups.

bosa is unique in that he is gifted with a set of tools that can execute this hybrid role.  combo of size(6'5 270 lbs), length(33 3/8" arm length) and staggering strength will give guards fits in the NFL. the shortest route to the QB is up the middle, and Bosa works good moving forward. he doesn't have to be as bendy and twitchy inside as an OLB would on the edge.

this would allow lynch, bosa, armstead and ahmad/tank/eli to all be on the field at once in our rush package.

oh, and he's only 20 years old. :x

:nerd:

I did a breakdown a couple pages back on Bosa. I touched on role he could fill that we desperately need. The only player I truly do not want at 7 is Ronnie Stanley. I cannot get down with guys who make a living in the trenches having their desire to play the game questioned. Getting flashbacks of kwame Harris. :x give me spicoli over kwame.
