Base will probably be our best run stuffers, so dorsey, williams and Dial with lynch and Ahmad on the edges.

Our sub packages are where it gets exciting. I hope we see a package with lynch, armstead, and defo.

since sub package is basically your base package in modern day football, i think you can expect to see something like this on the field more often than not:

I think DJ will get a fair shot to win the job under Chip. Chip loves him some tall, long CBs, and DJ has played very well whenever he's been given the chance. He's my dark horse.

Redmond should beat out everyone pretty easily. Solely on pure coverage ability, he's the most talented CB on the roster. Dude is really twitched up. His burst when he plant and drives on balls is very nice. DJ gives you the size+physicality and Redmond gives you speed+quickness.

It really all depends on what type of defense Chip and O'neil want to play. If you want to play like Seattle and run a bunch of cover 1/3 with a lot of bump and bail, then you go DJ and Rashard Robinson. If you want to play like Lord Fangio did with a ton of 2 shell/quarters coverage, then Redmond would be a great fit.

i think jim o'neil is the biggest question mark on this entire team. i have no clue what this guy will do, and the scary part is almost all our talent is on defense. if this guy doesn't know what the **** he's doing, he could mismanage the **** out of our guys.

on a more positive note, our DL is our most talented unit, and coach az is probably the best coach on the staff after chip/rathman.

Brooks over tank in the nickel?

Whoever gets the start at CB they will have earned it.

*crosses fingers

Could be wrong but I was under the impression that Hodges was essentially already the starter unofficially.

Unless Wilhoite just outplays him in training camp.

Edit: but that sub package Red outlined above makes most sense with the players we have though so the other ILB spot may not be as integral as traditionally.
