I prefer the white midsole.. Maybe that's why I don't care for the emeralds as much. Still like them though

thinking about making one of my freshwater pairs into an Emerald custom, emerald on the upper and white for the swoosh shouldnt be too hard right?! lmao

I wanna cop a second pair just to try that custom. its soo tempting since the midsole paint is already pretty bad on all griffeys.. lol

the other tricky part would be to get the paint color to match the emerald, or heck just make them freshwater colors i have 2 pair already but one is a full size too big (size 12)

thats sick, I'm thinking of just painting the black midsole white, and doing the pods white, making them a pair of the original pair Griffey wore lol,

but griffeys pair had the emerald/freshwater air bubble which is why the freshwater custom is closer to original, or you could sole swap the freshwaters with the emeralds but that might turn out tragic lol

Not tragic at all. It's a pain in the *** but looks awesome!

They look unfinished lol.

If that streak area...where the swoosh is located....was white or red they would look better imho

olympics are horrible

i only said it could be tragic if you dont take your time on the sole separation part because you could ruin the midsole/sole if done incorrectly or rushed. if i had the time or patience i would do it but i think I'd rather just color the white part of the freshwaters to an emerald green color and call it a day, save time and money lol

With the patch on the back I assume they're a 'Hall of Fame' colorway.. Rather than olympics.

Was hoping for something a little better for a Hall of Fame colorway..once again assuming that's what they are for

Maybe make the midsole pieces above the air max parts red?

But def make those laces white and theyre about 5x better.

Patch is nice

You are correct. The hardest part about sole swapping these is the part(s) of the midsole that goes up onto the upper. The boiling water method only work partially. Steaming works the best BUT take care not to overdue it as the airbag expands and bulges....permanently.

Best method I've come up with for this specific shoe is a combination of boiling water, steam and acetone (in a syringe used on midsole peak while still hot from steam. This assuming you haven't ruined your airbags and stretched the P/U midsole material.

Consider me the guinea pig but I do it for the sake of accuracy and longevity.
