The Flash (CW Series) thread, season 9

Marvel characters are just as ridiculously overpowered as DC.

This has never happened.

I dont read the comics but when I was saying Batman would beat superman in the superhero thread this was one of the things told to me. That this happened in early new 52 continuity. Funny how no one said anything about it never happening then. DC fans remember whats real and whats not when it is convenient to them.

I was also told of an instance where he flew through a kryptonite sun in that thread. Not to mention him destroying a universe by sneezing. That's a joke, what could you possibly do to them.

It wouldnt surprise me if it was false when we have people saying bats couldnt beat supes then turning around and saying that arrow beating flash was cool.

I was leaning towards the Reverse Flash that we saw in the episode was Eddie... And that he was working with Wells who would become RF number 1. But that's clearly not the case, because Wells appears to be the RF period.

But then that means he beat himself up, again, how did he accomplish that? Is future Wells/RF stuck in the present and guiding current Wells towards becoming the RF?

Before the latest episode. I thought Wells was Future Flash who turned evil and was trying to figure out how to get his powers back and return to the future.

I was going to make a post in which I explain how mass increases as speed increases (E=MC^2, giving flash more than just super strength, but the capacity for infinite 'strength' hence the IMP)

This is all completely false, but I'm assuming there are typos.

Typos aside if you understood these concepts a little better you'd realize why his speed does not give him super strength and the suspension of disbelief might be easier for you. What is "IMP" by the way?

Infinite Mass Punch.. Because the faster he goes the higher his mass is (ELI5)...

Which isn't wrong at all. You're gonna argue with Einstein fam? Be my guest.

Oh dc comics with your impossibly powerful superheroes

So far I would say this series is a solid 7.5. It's enjoyable but very annoying at times. The best thing about the lastest episode other than Barry getting the future hands is that they don't say IMPOSSIBLE 20 times.

I hope there is a good departure from the comics because it'll make the plot more enjoyable and potentially allow for better writing since we're getting time travel from the jump.

Considering time travel is a major theme, I don't think it's crazy to think that the man in the yellow suit is wells from a different time period.

Infinite Mass Punch.. Because the faster he goes the higher his mass.
I thought eli5 was some theory I hadn't heard of lol.

Anywho where are you getting this theory that mass increases? If we use the E=mc^2 theory you did you can easily see what you're saying is false and that speed and mass are inversely proportional. There's also the relative mass theory that explains the phenomena.

Unless you're arguing that flash has infinite energy(E), then idk what you or Einstein are saying to support your idea.

A better way to explain the flash's strength is f=ma

That isn't necessarily super strength. Super strength means lifting heavier weights without damaging your body (no muscle breakdown or bone breaking) and it also comes hand in hand with invulnerability. Flash doesn't have that, he isn't immune to breaking his wrist if he punches someone too hard at the speed of light unlike Superman who can punch without a problem. That was what I meant by Flash not having super strength. He could do a flurry of punches to a wall of thick hide of Grodd and might just hurt himself more. He heals fast but he isn't invulnerable like Supes or Thor, Flash gets hit by a train and he could die. Flash can't lift more than the regular human iirc. Supes could flick someone with his finger and have them flying off for miles, that is what I consider super strength (along with the invulnerability to the body to lift heavier items or hit something hard w/o hurting one self). Flash' speed punch isn't super strength, it is law of physics like a speeding train hitting you doesn't mean the train has super strength, it's just accelerated impact but Flash' body isn't built to handle that, they showed this in the show.

Again, they actually showed this during the episode with Girder. He had to hit it int he right spot or he will shatter his whole arm or kill himself (something terrible like that) the same way a boxer are thought how to properly punch or else you are just doing more damage to yourself. That also brings me to the point where Barry has no formal fighting experience/training, a super punch done the wrong way can cause damage and at his speed/phase, the damage would be multiplied.

There was no arguing whether Flash could knock someone heads off with one punch (was discussed earlier and I have said he could do that but he doesn't because he is a hero) or not.

I am no physics expert so most of those are somewhat based on comics so don't kill me if I got some of it wrong but that is how I gather Super Strength works and that is why I said Flash doesn't have it.

I really enjoyed this episode the speedster fight scenes were really nice. Especially in contrast to the arrow fight scenes which are stale to me at this point. I also liked that barry let Iris know. It gives me hope that this show won't let these love interest story lines drag on like most shows.

Watching the show makes me want to check out the comics, but it's so overwhelming. There's decades of material out there and i don't even know which comics are good. Feel like it's too late in life to get into comics.

Discussions about meat touching that last for days and then months... with other dudes.

Lightweight joking, but c'mon man, it's a weird thread. Moving on though, don't want to derail this thread.

Its people quitting their addiction to pr0n.
You should see the subreddit for it. They treat it like a cult.

Im surprised at how cool the NT version of it is.

Has anyone tinkered with the idea of Wells being future Barry Allen? Thats one possibility. They look alike. Wells is willing to kill to protect Barry. Has intimate knowledge of the future. One possible theory.

Current Wells is Barry Allen. He attempts to go back in time to save his mother. Reverse Flash follows, which causes the altercation. young barry enters the room, future barry saves young barry( as we have seen) by moving him to the street, thus allowing his mother to die at the Hands of RF and the Flash path to be set.
What if there was another fight off screen after the fight in the house? The fight ends with Reverse flash being the victor, and Future Barry Allen trapped in the past timeline, powerless and unable to return. We all know based of the convo with Det. West that Wells showed up in Central city the day after Barry's mom was killed? Anyways, Future Barry changes his identity to H. Wells ( H.G. Wells, time machine inventor anyone?), disguises himself in the wheelchair and as a professor(easy to do since he has intimate knowledge of the future and future tech), and awaits the 14 years it takes young Barry to grow and ultimately become the guy that he can mold as a better Flash moving forward.

Why is he in possession of the suit? Because without the creation of the suit, and reverse Flash, there would be no murder, no Flash period...

If this theory holds true, he will eventually give this suit to Eddie Thawne, who will take on the role of Reverse Flash. Thawne already has a hate for the flash, and insecurities about Barry due to his relationship with Iris. The love triangle has been set in motion. Once Iris and Eddie both connect that Barry is the Flash, which is inevitable, thats gonna change everyone. Something big will happen. Eddie will have even more reason to hate the Flash and Barry Allen. Adding to this is we also know that RF spared Eddie's life, and this was bought out by Eddie in the show.. Also judging by the end of the episode, the person in the suit may not necessarily be meta. That tachyion device apears to give the suit powers, so the person wearing it may not naturally have powers..

Barry wouldn't go around killing people to protect his secret. Wells is not Barry.
Yeah, before I even get to that it'd mean at some point along the way Barry becomes a super genius that creates the tech necessary to make himself the Flash. Then along the way he becomes incredibly ruthless in making sure his past happens the way he remembers it.

Also means Iris probably dies along the way.

So while it sounds good and would be a cool mind **** I doubt Wells is future Barry.
