NIKE AIR MAG 2015

Would be nice to own a pair of these. The "Back to the Future" movies was a childhood fav of mine.

Estimated retail price? I hope under 500$
wayyyy over dude

RO's are in fact the Yeezy 2 Red October...cool shoe...if under $150 retail.

I'm curious why people say these will be "way" over $500 retail??? Keep in mind the first pair that released where auction off & donated to a cause. A basic release shouldn't be $1000 plus anything IMO not over $500 either. Think about besides the Air Mags (because they where auctioned off) practically every shoe that releases is below $500 (leaving room for shoes that are released in a pack) Resellers and limited amounts of production cause a $240 sneaker to sell for $5000 plus & a $350 shoe to get up to $4000 in price. But that's not the brand's official price.

Seeing as there will be some sort of motor, charging station, LEDs, etc people are assuming Nike will price it at a super premium.

Seeing as Nike has released Air Forces that costed $2000 MSRP without caring why wouldn't they price their most anticipated shoe of all time at a high price point?

I never said the Air Mags wouldn't have a higher retail price. I was just simply stating that I dont believe the shoe is going to be thousands of dollars. I personally believe the shoe's not going to break the hundreds mark "IF" the shoe is released on a wider scale as rumored last year. Also most anticipated shoe of all time is an opinionated response that holds no factual merit. Maybe for 80's & 90's baby's who hold some actual attachment to or even know about when Michael J Fox went to the future from the 80's to 2015 in the movie, or who even know who Michael J Fox or what Back to the Future 2 is period. If you quiz some younger sneaker collectors who want the Air Mags so much, you'll be shocked at some of the answers you'll hear (I've done it)
I remember the $2000 Air Force 1's with the Anaconda skin & the gold plated pieces, which truly isn't saying much when you consider any shoe with real anaconda skin cost somewhere in that price range or more. That's why your going to have a lot of younger collectors willing to trade there Air Mags for a pair of Yeezy 2's or Yeezy Boost. I personally would NEVER do that because I loved the movie and the shoe thought the shoes where cool every since I first seen them with the hover board when the movie first came out. Some said things like "who's Michael J Fox or what's Back to the Future 2"
Lastly I hope people aren't basing this super price on LED lights and a charging station? LED lights & charging capability isn't actually breaking technology these days  You can get that in a cell phone. Minus the rumored power lacing system there was another licensed company that put out this same shoe without the Nike check with LED lights and a usb charger and they sold for under $100. Now again I'm not saying I don't believe this shoe isn't going to be priced higher. I'm just saying I don't want people to confuse reseller prices with actual brand retail prices.

Gonna need a lot bigger battery than the ones in the original 2011replica version or any other replicas in order to run 2 motors in that new lacing system, much more AHr than is needed to power small LEDS. This is assuming the motors are actually strong enough to pull the laces "tight" and quick like in the movie. It's nothing new, as far as the charging, just bigger/ more from what i expect. Bigger mAhr batteries will add to cost, so will these motors, and so will the "technology" of an autolacing shoe. The design, engineering, and research dollars spent on the auto lace feature will get passed onto the consumer, as with anything else. That said, i dont think this shoe will be anywhere near thousands....on retail

Edit: And caps. Caps are probably getting charged up too.

People just said it was over $500 and I agreeed with that. I'm guessing 750$ or $800

I never said LEDs necessarily cost a lot but I sure as hell meant Nike was gonna charge a lot for them and their swoosh.

Also the shoe that you showed didn't have the actual expensive piece; the autolacing.

Regardless of the reasoning this is one of, if not the biggest, hyped release ever. Even if some haven't seen the movie they see the MAG as a pathway to get their 'Grail'. It sucks but I think it holds merit

Agreed. That's why I just referred to LED lights and a charging system when I mentioned not being breaking "technology" and left out the auto lacing portion.

I don't disagree with you and I said I hope people aren't basing the high price tags off of LED lights and having a charging system. LED lights that you can get in knock off Lego toys for like 10 bucks now or a charging system. That part wasn't directed to you. If I'm able to pickup the Mags they'll be my top Grail shoe also. So I'm not knocking the exclusivity of the shoe I was referring to some people up here (not you though) saying this shoe or implying it will be $1000 plus shoe, which in all honestly Nike could charge if they wanted to without justifying price or anything to the consumer. I'm just doing the same thing all of you are doing up here and that's just speculating and giving my opinion and I can be as wrong as anyone else up here.

None of us have any clue what pricing will be, and Nike def doesn't need to justify any price with any reason - a huge part of it is just the swoosh brand and the fact that they're the original designers/creators of the shoes. I think the mechanical parts involved will dictate production numbers, and will be the main reason they won't be mass produced. Time will tell.

Obviously there's no way to measure hype, but I think it's a safe assumption these will be the most hyped shoe ever because all heads are beasting over these, plus you will attract all the people who others don't care about shoes at all but are huge BTTF fans. Hell just look at how big of an event comic con is and imagine an entire generation of that crowd going after these along with the usual folks.

I'm saying if they do go for a wide general release. I'm calling $1000 & up. I just hope Nike makes enough for the whole NT Fam to eat.

For people saying it can't be over $500 retail must of forgot about the Air Force 1 LUX, I beleive they retailed for 2k.

Haven't heard of those AF1's for 2k. Can anyone drop some knowledge on this one?
