POWER THREAD (Sun., Starz)

Y'all killing Tariq.

Other than taking that gun I really can't hate the kid. This is normal **** kids go through. Especially a spoiled rich kid. He didn't grow up in the hood, he don't know how to handle tough situations. Parents breaking up, father ain't around as much. And we forget how close him and Sean was. That was basically his big brother.

Yeah, I'm not understanding the hatred and death wishes for a teenager

He's dumb, but what teenage boy isn't?

Ya'll can believe getting into a strangers car and sipping after him is normal all yall want.

Now that is bad writing. They shoulda just had them play basketball, 50 tells him he grow up with his father, Tariq saying he hates his father, showed them bonding.

But still some of these comments.

"Blow his head off"

"He's a clown"

 I'm like damn what he do?

It's just annoying to see a spoiled, moody teenager every episode. He brings nothing to the show really except acting like an entitled, disrespectful brat.

On top of that he's just an imbecile. Kid is completely missing shootouts while listening to music, sipping lean and bonding over hating his father with dudes he's known for a whole 30 minutes, bringing guns to school like he's really gonna do something with it. His storylines are all lame and add very little to the show, they just take up time really and they're annoying to watch. I don't find moody teenagers to be interesting TV. So I'd rather see the kid get popped so they can spend time on more interesting things, or create some kind of revenge scenario from it. He's a useless character basically.

When Kanan pulled the gun out I was like oh **** it's about to be lit :wow:  Ghost and Kanan part 2 gonna get crazy now. But ah well :smh:, gotta see what they do with that next week.

Yeah like I said before teen angst just ain't my genre, it may be real but lil ****** are annoying. I could deal with it just being implied.

How is he acting entitled though? How are you guys getting that impression?

His parents split up, his dad goes to live with his jump. The kids are put in awkward positions, being forced to interact with this woman. In addition to all the side **** Ghost is into further taking his attention away from his kids.

You all can't see how that might affect him? No, I don't agree with talking back and grabbing guns, and getting in a car with strangers...but goddamn give this kid a break

His a privileged brat who is acting out for attention. He should have went and found himself a girlfriend insread of crying over Ghost all the time

I spent last week burning through every episode of Power and I have a few thoughts:

None of these characters are very likable. Maybe Ghost and Ruiz and that's it. Everyone else needs to get got.

All of the women on this show are irritating. ALL OF THEM.

Tommy is just a 'hood version of Jesse Pinkman.

Too many damn sex scenes. Like it's bordering on watching softcore Cinemax.

The writing is sub-par. It's like they want to copy The Wire without trying to copy The Wire.

They even made the guy who played Marlo look like a chump.

Nah, no breaks . Kid lives in a lap of luxury, and both parents actually still try to work it out with the visits and all that. Plus I've never seen Ghost so much as raise his voice at the kid besides that one time Tariq called Angie a side ***** then pushed him, and he shoulda got his *** kicked for it. None of my friends I knew growing up coulda got away with that, divorce or not. The kid is spoiled and annoying.

I guess there could be an element of realism there if you're dealing with rich kids and divorce (I don't have experience with either), but regardless the storyline is just annoying to watch and there's way more interesting things they can be spending their time on

Everything Tariq is feeling was realistic until the latest episode. I don't believe Tasha never taught that boy don't go with strangers and definitely don't drink off their straw. That's like black people 101.

The most annoying thing to me all season was how Ghost just dipped on his kids to go live with Angela. I'm glad they wrote that into the show.

I wish we got more than 10 episodes each season. The show is performing well, so idk why we keep getting these short *** seasons.

The Tariq/50 thing, for example, is rushed as hell. Hoop with dude for 5 seconds, talk about Jordans for another 5 seconds, then 24 hours later you drinking out the same straw as dude?

Y'all missing the fact that 50 was shooting hoops with the OJ glove on and was money from the field. I don't know how the writing for this could be any worse!!
And after shooting hoops, why the hell would Dre come back with two cokes. Where's the gatorade at my guy?!!

I regards to Ghost son, I don't understand the entire hate for his story line.

Besides sipping from someone's cup, everything that has happened is possible.

That's just another story line showing how Ghost is looking control.

Tariq trying not to get slap, possible.
Tariq finding a gun and taking it to school, possible.
Tariq chilling with someone he just met that he feels is cool, possible.
Tariq venting how he hate his father to a stranger, possible.

I mean Ghost bare spending anytime, didn't really care to be there when Sean died, straight from jump taking his kids to the side chick house when it's all recent, calling you son a little Biggs and choking him because he called a woman that broke his house a birch. And so on .. Dude has a legit reason. Whether we like it or not .. All possible and adds value like stated before on how he is losing control ...

I see ghost n Tasha never gave Tariq the talk about strangers  :smh: ...idk where y'all from or how y'all grew up but even elementary schoolers round my way wouldn't be willingly hanging out with Kanan in that situation, and Riq supposed to be like 15 just not smart or realistic imo

And Dre annoying too, why he so scared of 50 ?? He supposed to be a street cat but is straight terrified when 50 around...worst part is they be 1 on 1, I woulda been tried to get him out the way
