Grew up close to NYC so I know what OP means. And yes there's a level of arrogance and smugness sometimes. Sorta like nothing exists outside of it.

IM ARROGANT. BUT IT SHOULD GO BEYOND THE CITY WHERE YOURE FROM

IF THATS ALL U GOT THEN UR NOBODY

Someone put out da Jesus piece symbol and get p hizzo in this thread

Hell I need a guest appearance by FlyNY as well.

Also when you make threads like this, it really only confirms how much better we are than you.

:rolleyes

You obviously GAF if you make a thread about it.

i made the thread to let youse guys in on something that's commonly known. i don't have a problem with ny. i have a problem with nyers that ALWAYS want to talk about the greatness (supposedly) that is ny, regardless of where the conversation started. and for the record diego, i was including you in the group of people who are "cool beans". but guess i was wrong, lol.

It's all love daddy.

Me talking bout the greatness that is NYC is no different than me predicting the Jets are winning the Super Bowl like I do every ******* year.

It's not to be taken personal. Just have fun with it.

Non NYC NTers **** on NYC.
NYC NTers stick their chest out.
EVERYBODY in the world ***** on Ohio.

It's all a cycle.

In modern times, we're at the forefront of architecture, fashion, culture, arts, music, etc, etc. etc, etc.

Both domestically and globally, generally considered to be the greatest city on the planet and it's been that way for a while.

Please take the energy of hate and use it to fuel a quest of self-exploration.  Ask yourselves why do I feel so threatenedWhy can I not keep their town out of my mouth?  Do I love myself?   Questions of this nature.

In terms of AMERICA, NY is the best...

Great place to visit, terrible place to live tho

I KNOW A REAL NEW YORKER IS:

WHEN ASKED WHERE THEY ARE FROM THEY DO NOT SAY NEW YORK. THEY SAY THEIR RESPECTIVE BOROUGH

On the flip side: When someone ask where you're from and you say New York. That person asking automatically thinks NYC.

brah, as a born and raised New Yorker I can say that NYC is not the end all be all of cities.

But gauranteed it's better than the city your from....where all ya'll are from.

It's not that we're insecure about our city....it's that we're so secure that we can tell everyone how great our city is. You can do almost anything you want in this city. The only thing ruining our city is all you immigrants from other butt **** towns coming here and trying to add your style to this city....nobody wants that **** keep it on your side of the country.

Go to tripadvisor and look up the best cities to visit. Is your city number 1? **** no.

Once again, there are many many cities that are dope in this country but if your a young person and you wanna live, you gotta be in NYC.
Ironic you're dissing immigrants.  Immigrants built NY to where it is.  Ellis Island?? I digress though.  You know are from NY so i guess you should know everything.

this!, dudes got hometown insecurity

and for the record, i could go to any town in the south and have those chicks lickin me down just by saying im from NY

WHY DO PPL THINK MELO IS AN ELITE BBALL PLAYER

HE'S OKAY MORE LIKE A D ROSE LEVEL TYPE

DEF NOT ELITE LIKE DA BIG 3

any conversation (doesn't have to just be fashion, finance or food) becomes an opportunity for them to tell you how great ny is. and they are determined to convince you, even if that means preemptively dissing where you're from. why? does that make you feel good about yourself? it's like the "god is omnipotent" argument. if god is really omnipotent, why does he need pissants to convert people? if new york is really the end-all be-all, why do you feel it necessary to yell it at every opportunity? are you not confident in comfort?

in the 36murders in chicago thread, dudes from ny is jumping in to say that ny does murders better (i'm exaggerating slightly), not even knowing that the statistics don't bear that out.

in the wshh clothing thread, dude from ny jumps in to remind us that ny is the capital of fashion. anything else designed/created anywhere else (at least in the U.S.) is wack.

in various other threads, dudes from ny jump in to tell us how "our" state or city "takes another L". ny never takes L's.

i might be generalizing, but only a little. i know there are a ton of people on and off nt from ny who are cool beans.

i gotta tell you overzealous new yorkers something you might not wanna hear and i speak for the rest of the country. we don't GAF about your city and you will never ever change our minds.

respectfully,
jimmybeanz

OP's topic is oxymoronic

Why do you care what New Yorkers think?

So are you talking about your self esteem problem?

and the L comment is internet language. Many people say the same thing about New York. Go in the music section or a Knick thread.

No one hates NYC. No one hates New Yorkers.

But everyone hates how you guys drop you're completely, utterly and totally biased opinion like its fact, and then argue it as if you have no idea its; A: an OPINION and B: BIASED.

Idc what you gonna say, Id rather live in San Diego over NYC, and I spent enough time in both. You cant even pretend like the weather is comparable.

I HAVE COASTAL BIAS

BUT WHAT REALLY RESPECT ABOUT DA SOUTH IS THE HOSPITALITY.

WHERE IM FROM PPL DOUBLE TAKE WHEN I SAY SIR OR MA'AM

EITHER THAT OR THEY ASK IF IM MILITARY.

IM LIKE NOT EVERYONE FROM NJ IS A DBAG BRODIE
