Uber hustle?

This **** sounds like a nice side gig. Why not just do it in a civic, Camry etc if you're worried about engine wear and tear? My car is 01 so no go for me...yet

:smh: the drivers believing in their promises. shouldve just quit.
:smh: slimy uber spokesman

Would love to but I don't have a 4 door car, they require one. Seems like a pretty cool part time gig

My cousin is doing this. He needed a flexible job schedule so that he can focus on his real career. Makes sense actually.

On the exact same thing. I am using it to learn the northside of my city and network. I've already met a couple new clients and some others in the real estate industry.

The cash is very real. It's really about driving at the right hours to stay efficient and max out on the earnings. I've made $200-225 three days straight.

I started on the 16th. Made 430 in 22 hrs, now I should do 800 this week after having worked roughly 36 hours. I'm gonna stay with it until its over on top of my other hustles.

and the best thing is I'm too damn busy making money rather than blowing it.
Not sure how accurate it is, but I read somewhere that starting Sept. 1st, Uber will begin charging $40-50/month to use their phone they give you, a lease payment if you will. Do you know about this? :nerd:

You can try signing up with SideCar, they accept any vehicle as long as its newer than yeah 2000.

I haven't read anything saying that, but I have only been on for a couple weeks now. That's one ride on a good day so no problem if they do. I have to see what Illinois and Chicago does to affect the program. I'll keep doing it as long as I can clear 1k a week.

.is that net? Cause I know they take 30% and then taxes on it and what not. But I've also heard anything you do with the vehicle is tax deductible

They take out 15%. It looks like they're also taking $1 per ride. I'm waiting on a response.

It's definitely tax deductible.

I've driven for a couple months in LA and it's a solid, temporary side hustle.

Nothing shady has happened - 90% of passengers are super nice. I've taken my share of drunks, but no one has puked in my car.

You need a 4-door car newer than 2005 - just regular insurance, not commercial.

After Uber takes their share, I average around $25/hr. If you only work during busy hours (Friday and Saturday nights), you can average maybe $30-$35 an hour.

in nyc its 30% so you know its serious. but my buddy made 125 in one hour cause dude got lucky no one was out in like 3 in the morning and a chick needed a ride to the airport. blew my mind with that

It's easy money. And easy money doesn't come good. :smh:

It's dangerous for users AND drivers. Especially because it's still ILLEGAL HELLO DUMBASSES WAKE THE **** UP!

^this
uber/lyft are illegal in some cities like orlando. ive heard ppl getting ticketed and cars towed. until uber complies with city laws, they arent gonna be allowed in these cities.

mentioned earlier, had a friend drive for them for awhile, but with paying your own gas/maintenance, and risk of getting in accident (be sure you got the right insurance) it wasnt worth it for him

That's what he gets for residing in Orlando. It's legal in CA that's all that really matters.

And it's no more dangerous than riding in a taxi, or a friends passenger seat, or a bicycle on city streets.

I just thought ol boys post was kind of sensational for no reason.

$25-35/HR ..... And that's worth the risk of harm from passengers to the uncertainty of not have any at all.

I'm downtown and my firm uses UTOG 2 Way Car Service ... They stay flooded with business for you and you drive nothing but corporate clients. The pay rate is way higher I believe than that figure stated above.

My boy is an Uber driver in SF on weekends. He typically just drives Sat from 2pm to 3am and nets a cool $600 after Uber fees. Not sure if that includes gas expenses too. I couldn't do it but he has mouths to feed.
Damn. What has he said in terms of safety?

I would do it, I would just sit one of my dude's in the front seat as security
