Both are hit or miss. I've picked up a few kicks at the Marshalls by my house, but the Ross next door to it is the worst. About 20 minutes away is another Ross where I've bought a few kicks and the Marshalls next to it sucks. You neverknow.

I heard they are changing a few Outlets to Clearance stores

Sorry but she got a boyfriend ( my friend ) that's like one of those Asian gangsters lol.

She hooks it up sometimes with the extra discounts tho...

the easiest way I digest it is the type of product each store gets. prices at clearance stores are much cheaper than factory stores. its probably because a clearance store is supposed to be well.... for clearance items... whereas a factory store's main goal isn't to clear out inventory the same way.

clearance stores tend to get more random, smaller size runs than factory stores also. that's why you may read clearance store A got 3 pairs of this shoe. doesn't really happen like that in factory stores.

a product can hit a factory store for $139.99 but if it hits a clearance store, it would be something like $79.99 or so.

Marshalls more than likely gets more of one particular shoe that Ross does.  Marshalls will probably get a full size run of a shoe if they stock it while Ross may get 4 or 5 tops of it.  For that reason you have to be super quick to the punch in Ross so people with the most success go at least a few times a week to see what they have.  Ross does clearance things quickly though so if for some reason something sits for a week or 2 next time its $10 to $15 bucks less.   I got a pair of Hulk KD5's for $35 bucks clearance.  My best find was BHM Lebron X for $50 and some Lebron 9s for my son.

Think it depends on your area too.  For example, the part of Georgia I'm in there are a lot of joggers.  So running shoes get bought like crazy but Basketball and Trainers sit a little longer.  As I get closer to the inner cities around ATL though, there tend to be less BBall kicks.  My formula has been find the Ross/Marshalls that has the oldest age of people living around it and check them frequently.  Resellers kind of messed this up a lot but I'm still kind of successful with it. 
 
Finally found out where the KOBE 8  without box tops are coming from. Burlington Coat Factory in KC got Pythons and Port Wines in. 2 size 16 and size 17.5 left $69.99. Also had FSR up to 13 of CJ81 cleats black and white for $19.99.
