OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

Went into my match up last night down 101.3 to 104.1, standard format. I had Sproles and Vinatieri, dude had Maclin going. Needless to say, Sproles cooked and I ended up scoring 134 to his 114.

Sitting at 1-1 and liking the turn around I've seen from Week 1. If Doug Martin wasn't my 2nd pick, I'd feel even better about my squad but hey, what can you do?

Hey Guys,

Sitting at 2-0 after McCoy's 18 pts last night, glad I could pull that out.

I was able to snatch Asiata on Friday after the Peterson news broke, but with Peterson supposedly playing this week I'm not sure he's worth holding onto.  My team right now looks like:

Kaepernick

McCoy

Murray

J Nelson

R White

G Olsen

CJ Spiller

Seahawks D

J Bell

B Pierce

DeAngelo Williams

Asiata

Hawkins

J Hunter

I'm hurting for WR depth so I was thinking of trying to pick up Quick off waivers for Asiata.  What do you think?

Well I'm 0-2 and my team is in shambles.. I have first crack at the waiver wire. Who do I pick up?
My Squad:

Cam Newton
Jake Locker

Eddie Lacy
Le'Veon Bell
Ryan Matthews
Justin Forsett

Andre Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Kelvin benjamin
Justin Hunter
Josh Gordon
Pierre Garcon
TY Hilton

I need an RB badly so I was thinking Ahmad Bradhsaw or Knile Davis. Thoughts? Both don't really have any long term guarantee due to Ahmad splitting carries and Jamal Charles likely return at some point. But I need to stop the bleeding.

should i drop the saints defense?

they play the Vikings and literally have to play better at some point right.. and is AP for sure playing????

I can pick up the ravens (vs browns), chargers (vs bills) or lions (packers)

Need some help with my RB lineup. 2 starters and a flex.

Currently have Lacy, Gio Bernard and Alfred Morris starting with Ivory and Stewart in the bench. Thinking of sitting Lacy right now vs. Lions. Ivory vs. the Bears on Monday night (he's been getting more and more touches each wk, proving to be a more consistent runner than Chris Johnson. Also 1 TD each game sir far) or Jonathan Stewart vs. Pitt (with deangelo not 100%)??
Or is keeping Lacy on vs. a tough Det D the better option?

Ride the ship I say. They gave up 26 Pts vs. a suspect Pats D. Of course no Peterson but hold on tight before we get more info about AP's playing status

Pick 2/3 to start:

Cooks
Sanders
Michael Floyd

I'm leaning towards Cooks & Floyd with Sanders having the tough matchup @ Seattle, but SD passed it pretty well vs them last week so I don't know.

I would go Sanders and Cooks.  You said it, if Rivers can throw all over Seattle then Peyton definitely can.

For the long term, is it better to pick up Bobby Rainey off the waiver wire? Seems like he's 10x better than Doug Martin.

Knile Davis looked good as well but I'm unsure when Charles is coming back. Khiry Robinson and Donald Brown is also on the waiver wire as well.

Need some opinions on a trade that was proposed to me. 10 team PPR, 6pt pass TDs, QBs are flex-able.

I give:
Tony Romo
Lamar Miller

I get:
AJ Green

My other RBs:
Jamaal Charles, Gio Bernard, Knile Davis, Jeremy Hill, Toby Gerhart, Terrance West, Jerick McKinnon

My other WRs:
Julio Jones, Michael Floyd, Andrew Hawkins, Brandin Cooks

My only other QB is Jay Cutler.

I'm torn. My WRs would be stacked having Julio and AJ, and getting rid of Miller doesn't really hurt me at all. My RB depth is good. But getting rid of Romo would leave me vulnerable at the Flex/QB2 spot.

Both Kirk Cousins and Geno Smith are available on waivers, and it's a FAAB system so I could land both of them if I buck up. Then I could play the matchups with those 2 guys as my QB2.

Anyone have any opinions? :nerd:

I'd get Knile and probably drop Forsett. See if you can get Donald Brown too. I have a funny feeling Charles is gonna come back too early and hurt himself :smh: he should just sit out September and let the high ankle sprain heal.

Nick, I'd do that trade in a second. Only pause is the QB being a flex as well. I'm not the biggest fan of Cousins. Posted something in the NFL thread as to why. Geno's not a bad option (think he had more 20 point games than a handful of QB's last year including Luck/Romo).

I'd do it and put Floyd as my weekly flex.

Should I trade Sproles and Delanie Walker for Lacy and Vernon?

Hell yes

Anyone know how long Charles will be out?

THIS is the ultimate question that needs to be answered before I put in a claim :nerd:

Well he has a high ankle sprain. That's typically a month or so. Don't wanna pick up Knile and rather trust that he'll be fine, then that's your right. But, look at what CJ Spiller did last year without taking a game or two off with the high ankle sprain.

I'm torn like everyone else with the waiver wire coming up.

Knile Davis, Bobby Rainey, Donald Brown, Khiry Robinson, Wes Welker and Delanie Walker all available.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

^ It really depends on your need. If you need a RB that can take over and potentially be the every down guy, you probably would want Rainey.

If you own Charles and want insurance for the next couple of games, grab Knile. Because if JC and KC decide that they want to just suck it up and play through it, he's still getting the majority of the carries.

That's what it comes down to for everyone, the need. I wouldn't go crazy over Robinson, Ingram really got going against two good match-ups. I'd pick him up as a flex if anything. PT is gonna get a good bump.

As a Bucs fan I don't even know what to tell you guys as far as picking up Rainey. He looks way better than Martin but Lovie is a stubborn dude and says Doug is still his starting RB. I personally think we should just keep Rainey as the starter. Doug already looks like he's past his RB shelf life. I'd trade him asap if there's anybody in your leagues that will give you anything valuable in return. Charles Sims will be the Bucs RB to own come Week 10 or so though.

Trying to figure out how I salvage this. View media item 1182170

Any ideas? :smh:
Thinking about dropping Miller for Delanie Walker or Bobby Rainey, since Martin hasn't done anything.

Welker is back this week and I believe I can keep Steve Smith in, but Terrance Williams is on the waiver wire, so I'm iffy on dropping Smith for him.

Gordon, I don't want to release him.
