My dude Drogba needed to out one of those away. Also Fabregas had a big chance and sent that thing to my backyard. 8pm is right though, Chelsea need to go for the jugular when they get a lead

I feel Drogba should have been sub'd at the 60th minute. He wasted some chances in the box and at time, the build up just stopped when he got the ball. I know he's older and maybe the style is too fast for him or something, but Chelsea needed to capitalize on those chances badly!

Hazard had some very good opportunities to net some as well, but he blasted them over the goal :smh:

I stopped watching after Remy's attempt was headed out of the goal, so idk how the rest of the match went.

still, 1st half was all chelsea and second half Schalke seemed to get their **** together, but Chelsea created plenty of chances after the tie to take the lead.

Yup

You have to do well in the champions league man, thats a requirement for me if I'm a fan. With City's payroll and the type of players they have - no excuse.
This. Left the game at the 80th minute thinking it was gonna draw since I had work...what do you know Boateng ends up scoring :smh:

I said before the season, I'd let Chelsea take the BPL if it means we can go to at least the semi's in UEFA. Mangala needs to start against Chelsea...let this man get into form and our defense will be solid.

If we lose against Chelsea....I don't even think they will be mentally fit to face a Roma side who looked like a threat today.

If I was a City supporter, I'd rather have the domestic title than a semifinals appearance in CL.

11 AM start Sunday is perfect. Arsenal/City nearly finished me after Friday night partying.

Yeah I sound a bit crazy but in my point of view we've already achieved domestic accomplishments. I'm aiming for European titles now. We have the capability to compete deep every year but it's been nothing but disappointment year after year.

Meaning you'll take the stepping stone semifinals appearance this campaign for further glory in 2015-2016 CL play.

Don't mean we'll be in 5th place in the Premiership
I mean I'm aiming for the Semi's because it's at least close to reality, I'll take the Finals too.

Even Real Madrid won the CL without winning La Liga. If City wins the BPL even better. With the amount of world class players and talent on the squad they need to join the elites of Europe.

What did he say? 5 trophies, 5 years.

But he's on track with that right now. He could still (I know Chelsea are favorites) win the league this season....you gonna fire him then?

 I hear you, deep runs in CL should be standard given the squad they have, and the amount of money they have invested. But to be honest, lately when I look at City's squad, I'm not overly impressed. I feel like they don't have star quality all over the pitch. Off the top of my mind Hart, Kompany, Silva, Yaya, Aguero all stand out for me, the rest are just pretty good players. To go deep into the CL, you either need to have amazing players all round, or gel together exceptionally well (which I don't think City do as well as they should).

If City won the league, there's no way I would call for Pellegrini's head. CL or not, he would have one a very very difficult and competitive league.

Completely understand, wasn't belittling your point. My blood brother is an ardent City supporter, and I feel his/your pain with lack of European success. He'd rather have the domestic title than a semifinals CL appearance personally. City isn't ready to win CL IMO, and there's no point in reaching the semis as a consolation prize. You want a deep run with a real, legitimate shot to hoist the trophy in May.

Because Wenger is still one of those dudes who still thinks Pluto's still a planet.
Wenger's handling of Mes and Moyes of Kagawa remains baffling to me. Do these managers not want to win matches?

According to Ferdinand, No, Moyes did NOT want to win matches, he preferred to set up his team not to lose matches.

Side bar: Been meaning to ask you about South Africa's reaction to the Pistorius verdict. I believe the judge is awaiting to determine her sentence for culpable homicide.

Folks aren't happy.

Naturally the feminists have turned this into a "well, you can murder a woman and get away with it", but to me it's more than that. 2 people lost their child, and don't really have any answers to go home to.

There's talk of maximum sentence being 15 years, but if gets anything over 5 (probably out in 2 on good behavior) I'll be VERY VERY surprised. I think the judge will dish out some years due to the potential backlash.

Also, race is still a heated subject, and there's always talk of "if he was black", and black folk are calling for his head knowing damn well if that case was on a black dude, he'd be under the jail.

One last factor to take into consideration, this is the first time cameras have ever been allowed in the court in SA, so for many people this is their first interaction with court proceedings, and they still have a long way to go in the understanding of murder charges, intent, tainted evidence etc.

All in all...the judge better through him some years, otherwise there will be a very unhappy public.

I agree with everything you're saying about City. I feel the same way. To me the positions are out wide, They're missing a top quality winger/s. Jesus Navas was a quick fix but not a game changer. For example if City had gotten Di Maria, I would have said City have it locked in the EPL.

I don't see City winning this year and if they have another underwhelming CL, think its a wrap for Pelle. You almost have to let him go. Plus, dudes never really proven much, never saw him as the permenant managers going forward anyways.

Chelsea were disappointing. 2nd half was really poor. Love him, but not sure why you start Drogba over Remy. Finishing wasn't good as a whole. Mou is gonna lose patience with the defense and they'll be back parking the bus soon enough.

Shout out to Maribor.

Cardiff City have confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskaer has stepped down as manager of the club. #CCFC
