son comes out of the closet to his religous parents

but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. 10:33

Don't have to deny Jesus to be Gay. The church is the one telling people to disown gays, Jesus disowns those who deny him, you can accept Jesus and still be gay. That's that church v Jesus thing.

Denying Jesus is an act he does not like. If you do this, you will disowned. Once again you have tweaked something someone has said so you can argue against it. Strawmans everywhere with you.

You Christians kill me, you try so hard to make your beliefs sound believable and pure but they're not, at all. You go so far as to say that it's the church that is negative but Jesus is all good. But churches preach the word of Jesus. An if for some reason they don't, then how are they considered Christian churches?

Didn't watch the video. Did he deny Jesus? As far as I know, old dude was just gay, which on and of itself is not denying Jesus as Jesus didn't speak on homosexuality, from what I've read.

So because a white man taught me Malcom (I taught myself, but just example) does that mean everything that the white man believes is what Malcon believes? Couldn't someone only read Malcom, independent of white dude, and form his own opinion?

I'm agnostic, before we get into it, but Atheists never see the difference. Ideas v institution. If you actually read what Jesus said then I'm sure you'd agree with it.

This idea if you believe one thing someone said you must believe everything is ridiculous, yea I believe we should treat our neighbor sad ourselves, no I don't believe Gays should burn in hell, hints, why I no longer identify with religion.

Son was corny as hell for recording it though. He got the reaction he wanted. Its obvious he wanted to stir up some controversy in the household and make it a public display.

Should have just kept it private and told his parents straight up. No video, no back and forth. Just "Ayo, I'm gay, b." and moved out if they said move out.

Sums it up.

Because when it comes to religion you can't pick and choose what parts you want to acknowledge. That's ridiculous. An if you do do that then you are a poor *insert religion*

An as a Christian you better agree with everything Jesus said and did, because as Christians like to profess he was perfect and infallible. So everything he said was right. So if you disagree, then he wasn't perfect. An suddenly the whole religion has no reason to exist.

No...you can. What rule? Is it against the law? Why can't you say 'I like this but not that?' Associate me with MY beliefs, don't impose others on me.

We pick and choose what to believe everyday.

you can't be serious with this ... You can't pick and chose what you agree and don't agree with when it comes to religion. Unless you ate using it as a guide to which you live your life and not how god the Bible States you should live your life.

If you are using it as a guide then you agent really following god ...

That's not how YOU think religion works.

That's how MY faith/morality works. I read a **** ton, atheists, agnostic, Buddhist, Islam, Kant, Descartes, Malcom, El Shabazz, Hume, Martin, Nietzsche...pretty much you name em, I've read em (hyperbole).

We pick and choose, even the religious. Never hate/love anything 100% (avoid zealots) and make up your own belief system.

That's the problem, either for or against, this or that, right or left, that antiquated/contemporary thinking is where our problem is. Reality, religion says some good and some bad, choose your own belief system, everything else is shallow groupthink to me and as a society we are above it, videos like this wouldn't exists if we progressed our thinking...probably.

Debate all you want about religion but the bottom line is a parent should never treat their child like this. That was disgusting to watch.

Nope. Society is not above it. I'm sorry you try and blanket society in your rationale, but it doesn't work like that. I live in the real world. You can argue and debate about your phony reality all you'd like.

An quit moving goal posts. It's incredibly annoying. This "debate" ended when I answered your Jesus question.

Idk man, we love in two different worlds. Your world doesn't seem that fun.

you didn't answer why Jesus had disowned him...like I don't remember that.

I like how "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" is one of the ten commandments and gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins - basically two sets of key rules to try to boil Christianity down to its essence, and how nobody among these fundamentalists is complaining about people working on weekends and hordes of fatasses on mobility scooters taking over the country. Yet somehow some obscure reference to homosexuality deep in the bible is a deal breaker.

Christians pick and choose what commands to keep. Scriptural, sin is black and white. Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord as is homosexuality. So in Gods eyes, gays and liars are equitable, among other sins.

7 deadly sins are a traditional construct and are not found in the Bible at all. But I get your point and wholeheartedly agree. I am a believer, but I view sin as sin, no matter what form its in. I'm am not immune to sin but I strive to be free from it. I feel if you believe in the Bible, then you have to take it all or leave it.

I can do a live u-stream and simultaneous youtube live also. Maybe create some digital ads leading up to the event. All this for just 10%.
