2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

i think jr has more to offer than shump... i know yall are banking on shump potential since hes still young but hes not going to get any better... jr plays decent defense and can improve on that and his offense is great when hes on but is inconsistent.... and shump his offense is non existent and his defense is slightly better than jr but overrated for what people expect out of him a lockdown defender... he gets in foul trouble quickly for me to take him seriously
This is how I view it. JR is a much more dangerous player than Shump. I don't think other teams are accounting for Shump at all. His defense is above average but really only stands out because we're a poor team defensively. I like that Phil acknowledged the trouble with his shooting mechanics. Watching Shump on offense can be painful. With all that athleticism it's like he doesn't know how to finish if its not a dunk. No floater, no mid range, no finesse moves around the basket. These are things you learn very early in basketball and its like he never got around to it. If he can become a consistent deep threat he can be valuable. If not, he's destined for someone's bench.
From back in October. Still relevant. I'm embarrassed that some of you ever expected more from him. Shump is not a starter in this league. It's not going to get better.

JR is still JR lol.

We could could go get Steve Franchise at the club right now

if the Clippers could trade Hawes' contract than i'm sure some team out there could use a shooting PG who doesn't turn the ball over much

i was thinking the Rockets might be interested

i'd take any pick or any player for Caldo

papanikola and corey brewer matches salary wise. decline papa's team option, keep brewer for 1 year. sign me up. hell, i'd even throw in a 2025 first rounder top 10 protected to get it done.

If the Rockets/Knicks do happen to make some type of trade, we all know it'll benefit the Rockets and put the Knicks in the hole again. That's how it has always worked :D

Brewer would be alright but a bench wing is the last thing we need..

wonder if Phil could fleece them for DMo or TJones

Didn't we sign brewer and waive him just a year ago?

If Caldo isn't traded, he most likely will be the starter. If we draft Russell / Muddy, they eventually should play more minutes and win the starting job, but they've got to earn that starting PG spot. Teach them the importance of being humble and that nothing is ever given to them, no matter how trash Caldo is.

Since you guys hate on bankers so much, I'd figure some of you would get a kick out of this. Poor got his offer pulled from a very prestigious PE firm too.

In fairness, that dude could not have come across as more of a douche.

Especially as a ******* 2nd year employee. He tried to be a ******* hot shot and he got what was coming for him. And I work on WS. Not a banker though
