Sup NT, need some advice on what to do.

So I recently transferred schools and now I have to apply to the Education program at my new school.

Thing is, I need a letter of recommendation from a history professor.

This is my first semester at the new college and im only taking one history course and the class size is huge (about 100 students)

I need this letter of recommendation before Dec. 1 which is before the semester ends.

So basically I can either try hard to get close enough with the prof. for her to write me a letter of recommendation and I was gonna

visit her once during an office hour (in Oct) in pretending I need help on a research paper thats due mid nov.

then ask her for a letter of recommendation.

Or since im a transfer student, im allowed to

go back to my old college and ask my professor from there to write me ANOTHER letter of recommendation.

I know this prof. pretty well and he wrote me a letter of recommendation before when I was applying to the college I transferred in.

But I feel like I'll be bothering him by asking for another letter of recommendation esp since I dont even attend that school anymore.

Also, If i should ask him, should I ask in person or just email him?

pretty undecided on this one

Can you use your old letter of recommendation from the old school? If not, explain the situation to your old professor and say you need another one.

Get an A in current history class. I've never been turned down from classes I got A's in. If you can't get an A, get a B, and be buddy-buddy.

Bothering him? That's part of their job. Many have templates prepared and are ready to dish em out. I've heard of professors telling the students to write it and they'll just sign

In person is always preferred

Ask the professor from the old school. Professors write recommendation letters for students that left the school all the time. It is no big deal

The worst the professor can say is no. But be clear of the deadline.

Thanks nt. will ask my old prof via email since my old school is like an hour away
