Nike Vomero 9 -- The worst shoes EVER for running...

About 3 months ago my wife bought for me the vomero 9 shoes to replace vomero 8. I run two marathons per year and about 40 to 60 km per week at my peak season training. I start wearing the new vomero 9 shoes about 2 months ago. Quickly the shoe condition deteriorated as the plastic side bottom threads quickly worn off. At my peak i.e. when i started logging about 50km per week and about three weeks ago i started feeling a pain on both of my angles in the outer side exactly symmetrical. It was hard for me to believe that the shoes were to blame ..... They were. Four days ago during a strength training with my coach the pain became so severe that i had to stop (... and i never stop). I went to the hospital were i was given antiflamatory medicine.

Yesterday i was surprised to find two other exactly same cases of runners who have the same shoes and the same symptoms.

We discussed and changed the shoes to the older one. NO PAIN -- NOTHING. I went to the Nike shop.. Ridiculous to say the least. The sellers there not only did not accept what both of us where telling them but also told us that it was our fault because these shoes are not meant for such distance running!!!!!!!!!! As  you can understand there was no point staying there any more as it was apparent that the guyz were to say the least ignorant of the brant that they are suppose to effectively sell....

For me it almost cost me the Marathon race 20 days from now. I will be VERY VERY reluctant to bay any shoes from Nike again especially if they are sold for 160Euro.

For you guyz that intent to buy them think well before you do..........

I don't know which Nike shop you went to. But to say the Vomero is not a distance running shoe is ridiculous. I don't know how many miles you put into them, but I wouldn't have ran in them if you already put over 500 miles. Any shoe that has been put more than that much mileage should be replaced.
