Kanye West can move product ... and he proved that with a single push of a button Thursday ... and a marijuana-fueled clothing company is reaping the benefits.

The always fashion-conscious Yeezus became a Pied Piper of sorts with the pic he snapped of a pap wearing a sweet sweaty. The manufacturer -- D9 Reserve -- instantly sold out ... more than 300 sweatshirts at $135 a pop. That's a cool $40K.

D9 is big in the weed scene, promoting pot in its fashions.  

As for the sweatshirt, the company does not plan to restock, which will make the 300 instant classics.

Awesome. Just proves that when it comes to urbanwear (not to be confused with streetwear which actually spans into R&D and pattern drafting), marketing is truly king.
 
I know Kanye wears some off the wall **** at times but how awesome must that dude have felt.


Shirt is ugly though.

It's scary since if he has this influence, why isn't he using it to change the world for the better instead of using it to sell junk to people?

because he's a clown that wants to be accepted by the fashion elite that never will accept him. Instead of creating his own legacy he cries because the big fashion houses and companies won't back him and give him 100% control.
 
question is, why was Kanye in a random taxi cab in the first place?

It's so dumb man, if I had that influence I wouldn't care about fashion, I'd be using my power to wake people up and help usher in a new, better, more positive world.

I think that was his plan till his mom died and he went nuts then the powers that be placed Kim K in his life to keep him content on acting out on social issues. Dude could really be making power moves that could be waking up the youth and employing people by building his own fashion house from the ground up.

i think any ire in this situation should be directed towards the people.  I mean, this isn't a Kanye-specific phenomenon

The thing is he has no influence over things that matter like politics or social causes. Hes not gonna convince a grown *** man to vote for someone but he sure as hell can convince teens to wear something.
