Crazy how things done changed. In the beginning Jamal was breaking away from Lucius and was being used by Cookie. Meanwhile, Andre and Hakeem were still riding with Lucius. At the end of the series, Jamal (the one who seemed less likely to be the successor) gets Empire, and the other two stab him in the back.

Saw bits and pieces of the finale. Missed a lot of the main parts. 
Hulu is picking it up, so I probably won't be able to catch it till it hits the web.
I do hope the show maintains ratings-wise because it's doing wonders for other black shows as did Scandal.
I think it's partly why that headless horseman show got renewed for season 3.

only thing is, i feel like each episode had a nice steady pace, and the finale...well they're acting like they'll wake up without jobs tomorrow. just seemed like they tried to get so much in the episode that some of the absolutely huge events just get shrugged off. Keem with anika??!?!?! Dude doesnt have ALS??!?!?! Jackie Robinson finna be a secret agent??!?!?!!? J Hud a heathen?!?!?!? How are they gonna prove TH killed bunky? no weapon, no witness, no evidence, and they were planning on relying on the testimony of a guy that just got out of rehab? k.

Even the first part of last night was ok, but that last episode definitely jammed a ton of things in the episode. I was telling someone at work about that and said they set this mess up to make it to like season 3-4 already just off of how they ended this one episode

Yeah reflecting on it they tried to make the finale too big even though they were given 2 hrs. The pacing was real good all season until that.
Every time they came back from a commercial as things went on it didn't seem the scene we were coming back to were real. Stuff like Keem smashing Anika was hard to take in so quickly. I don't put it past Keem but for Anika to basically go all the way to the point of no return only to realized she's been used. She was only good for that fight scene
Somebody clear up the end performance for me though. We just had that cringe worthy duet with Lucius and Jamal. It had a specific sound. I was digging the guitar part at least and then when Lucius gets arrested he tells Jamal to perform his song and it's like a completely different song. Almost a ******* ballad. He kept talking about making and epic song and we got something else altogether.

i was scratching my head on that part too. twas a completely different song loll.
and that just random freestyle hit song lucious and jamal did loll.
