Empire New series in Fox

Man you just like to hear yourself talk, is all.

Then you go from calling people silly for acting like its some critically acclaimed show
Correct me if I'm wrong but I really don't see where I called anyone silly

Why you keep saying that?

, and post something about is the son supposed to be a metaphor for Drake, minus the father plus the blah blah blah.
Did you even read who I quoted or what I wrote?

We were actually discussing the show. Dudes bringing up Hakeem and his rap style. I quoted him and talked about what the character may be based off and how some of it doesn't make sense to me.

That had nothing to do with what I said to you  It aint hard to follow that stuff if you read. If you gonna dismiss it with a blah blah you might as well not bring it up since it comes off like you don't know what you're talking about.

It's fine for you to speculate and think this and that
You were speculating?

You talking like a revoked your rights to post and whine like a ***** about the show. All I did was reply to several ppl complaining what it is with this show.

You don't have to read it or like it.

because you're the TV God, but God forbid someone else's ideas don't line up with yours, here comes you with legs for lips letting everybody know how they can and can't feel about something....
Seems to me it feels like you're being picked on targeted or that I'm trying to smother your opinion.

Far from it. I suggest you shouldn't take things so personal. There's the message and the messenger.

You say something, I say something. You don't have to like it or agree with it. You don't have to continue replying to me about the topic either. It's how these threads works. Discussion, debate, arguments.

Grow up b or better yet just get over it. The only reason you can think I'm posting like I'm a GOD or authority is because that's how you regard me. Just take the post for what it is.

As you said I don't have to read or like what you say.
True and True. In the same breath though I can say what I want about your posts, you don't have to read or respond.

I didn't always read you I'd usually skip your posts.
Now I always read what I see from you, so I can see how ridiculous they are or aren't

I did respond though. You don't have to tell me what I already know. I chose to respond.

I said get over it. You still aint over it.

Just to be clear, this is just like I said you went from discussing the show to discussing me cuz you constantly feel some type of way.

Grow up b.

A tad creepy, especially in the reasoning.

I don't need a fan.

That if i die, I didn't commit suicide line from Cookie in the previews of next episode bothered me. When they try to connect what theyre doing to real world situations bothers me as well. When I heard her say that, it came off as comedic to me and i cringed hard. Its fine if the show wants to be over the top, but they need to stay in that lane and their own world

i felt the same. a lot of people did. that plus the monkey suit... sometimes the show teeters on the edge of mockery.

The monkey suit hit me harder, like I said I almost changed the channel off that alone.

The I didn't commit suicide line comes off more as humor though and it shouldn't. They're trying to make those references to real world stuff and some times it lands and other times it doesn't.

I didn't expect Don Lemon to even show up just to get played b y Cookie.

What makes it worse is the fact that the monkey suit was Lee Daniels' idea. Here's a quote from the showrunner Ilene Chaiken:

"I said, “Lee, I don’t know how I feel about it.” And he said, “I know it’s really controversial, and I know it’s scary, but you’ve got to trust me on this, Ilene. I know what I’m doing — and this is what I want to say.” ... He said, “Cookie is going to say, ‘How much longer are they going to treat us like animals?’ Because that’s what it feels like, I’m telling you from experience.” My first reaction was, “I’m scared of this. I don’t know if I like it.” But then I took a moment and thought, “Who am I to tell Lee Daniels that this is not the way to tell this story? I’m gonna get behind him. I’d be foolish not to.”

What he's saying isn't even wrong about how some black ppl feel but he's off thinking the depiction of a person in a monkey suit in a cage acting like one until she makes that speech is moving.

It's not.

The words are fine but that visual did not land.

And I know he'd probably say something like oh well if it made you angry or uncomfortable that's what it was suppose to do and I'd say that intent aside, it just didn't flow right. Maybe that was for all the racist white ppl that don't think they're racist that watch the show or something. That whole scene was like the show jumping out of it's skin to attempt to make a serious statement and it didn't connect but at this point with the way the rest of that ep went I bet that scene will be forgettable to many and that'll actually be worse for what Lee was trying to do.

spoken with such elegance. you described it perfectly. u got a writing background? those kinda analytical and writing skills would make u a smash in writing or marketing or reviewing

Nah, I don't have a huge writing background but it has become easier refining my thoughts through other writing work and posting online over the years.

Elements of the movie scarface in tonight's episode with the music
they had the scene with lucious where they replayed the famous chords from scarface. then the video between hakeem and jamal was clearly the same set from california love by pac

I think tonight is the night I threw in the towel on this show.

Not really by choice, I would have kept watching but, I have Cox Contour Cable and their **** sucks, I had it DVR'ing so when I was free to watch it, it was 20 minutes in, so then I click on my DVR and find the show but it won't start, Contour works half the time and freezes the other so when it freezes and won't start on DVr'ed programs I have to turn off the main box and reboot. Well I forgot the show was in the middle of recording when I reset it. I just now freed back up to watch, so I clicked on it to watch, and it only recorded 29 minutes of it, so **** it, I'm done

I think last night's episode was decent.  Nothing really worth talking about other than them putting the body in whats her name car towards the end.
