I was arguing about this all day yesterday and am still ready to keep it going. I don't think anyone is too old to make music, Prince dropped an album not too long ago and that **** is fire. Wu tang is still making music, and even trying to sell the album for a mill.

The specific Jayz argument was is he too old to make an album?

My answer...

Doesn't even matter cuz its all about the singles these days.

Paul McCartney just released a smash hit record with Kanye and Rihanna.

Aerosmith is out here selling out full international tours.

The Rolling Stones are still touring selling out stadiums.

So....no.

One day you're gonna be in Vegas and you'll see a big sign outside of Ceasar's Palace that says "LIVE! RED & METH! 2 SHOWS A DAY!"

No
He ain't too old to rap
He's just very mediorce that's all
As u can see nas can spit a verse and sound like he still in his 20's
Word to "the season"
That's called skill
Jay ran outta lines to take from BIG is all

Their show would be CRAZY
how high and da rocwilder live is :wow: :pimp:

Nah. Its very odd how much I thought Jay was the goat at one point. But the older I got, just not my cup of tea...at all.

He's not too old but I just think he doesn't care as much anymore. As Bane said in Dark Knight Rises, "Success has defeated you."

Music doesnt have an age limit. I would take Jay Z music for as long as he is willing to give it.

No one wants to hear a 40 year old plus rapper. I'm very good off that. Rap is different than Rock or R&B because of the content. I can listen to a 48 year old R&B singer but I'm not listening to Jay Z rapping at 48. It just sounds real foolish.

I think NaS needs to retire. The content of "Life Is Good" was great and appropriate for his age but I think he should go out on that note.

Mid to late 30s is it for rappers.

If he's still better than 98% of the game than how is he too old be doing it? Wasn't he 40 when BP3 dropped? That was a good album to me only reason people are saying this is cause Magna Carta was a huge letdown. His last album sold a half million the first week and he's still one of biggest names in pop culture he's only getting bigger as he get's older. Jay just sounds unispired which sucks cause we know what he's capable of. I know Ye said no one wants to hear a 50 year old rapper but I hope he was lying cause I'm gonna take new Yeezy no matter what age.

I think he should stop doing albums. MCHG had no reply value but he's still capable of doing some great features. He's verse on Seen It All was great.

As long as hip hop has lanes available for acts like Young Thug we have to let our old heads continue to contribute. A washed up Jay-Z still better than most of what's thrown at us these days. You're a liar if you saying MCHG didn't have joints on it. So what if it wasn't a classic. Same for Life Is Good. And 36 Seasons. Etc. They aren't hurting anyone releasing music and frankly I'm tired of hearing folks cry about it. Don't matter if its Jay, Nas, Ghost or whoever. These guys spots are solidified, everything else they give us is a bonus. Why turn a nose up to it?

Sure was. And rock fans grew together with their favorite bands. The disconnect in rap seems to be the fans don't want to grow up. Fans overly concerned with being hip will latch onto any new act, no matter how crap, and isht on older acts, no matter how polished.

I've said this before. It's not about Jay being old. It's about us pretending to be young.

What was the last verse Jay dropped? Seen It All? Yeah that was mediocre

Side note, I will say I DO NOT want a Jay x Bey album. That's a combination we can do without.

It was a cool verse
**** even young thug had a cool verse before(ain't about the money)
But if that ***** tells me one more time how he lost 92 bricks I'm a go crazy
Like I said verse was cool
Better than jeezy verse but nothing spectacular
Infinitely better than than "I got a hunnid Cinnabon" **** he spit on hustlin remix
Jay still trash and average rapper at best
He can't even tell stories properly
As evidenced I. His struggle story telling on meet the parents
Dude is hot *** garbage
Now if he woulda hung it up after blueprint I might have thought differently
But then he put out trash *** bp2 then that WACK black album that's only dope up until encore
I guess public Service announcement is cool too
