Halal guys carts coming to Cali >NY

Another West Coast exclusive I've been meaning to try is 85C Bakery.
Sea salt Iced coffee or hot milk green tea with a Coffee crusted bread filled with either red bean/mochi or chocolate and you are golden.

I prefer the Hot milk green tea over the sea salt iced coffee(even though sea salts more popular)

Yall can have em...and while your at it keep em....that food is awful. I have the true horror stories of the after affects. Wouldnt recommend to nobody

Miss my old job's proximity to Halal Guys. Two blocks away, used to go all the time after a long, tiring shift.

FYI, they raised the price of platters a dollar.

Juicy Platters opened up around my way in Bergen County, but the platters tasted fraudulent. I need the NYC experience, with a buzz.
We gotta go after a night of drinking.

My coworkers order from Afghan Kebab House regularly, and swear the food is bomb.

Yea bro the food from Kebab Paradise is terrific!

Now if we are talking all kinds of middle eastern cuisine, Shalimar in Edison. BOMB!

Eh Juicy Platters in Fair Lawn is ok. My boy went to RU with the owner. I keep tellin him to mention to the dude his place needs to step it up but he wont lmao.

The title of the thread is Cali>NY not Cali>NYC

So you telling me op was really talking about Buffalo, Albany, Woodstock, :smh: cam gif. Op was clearly trying to take a shot at NY, the only NY that matters the 5 boroughs and my point still stands. You have to compare an entire state to one city. Take that L cali.

Hey, don't get your jimmies all rustled because the rest of your state might as well be on Ohio.

The substance of the place where I reside is not contingent on cheap slop plates to satiate my gullet. Just as every square foot of this earth belongs to all men all men belong to this earth. I live in new York but do not deny any land as my land. With that said I'm opening up my own halal cart adjacent to the pink houses. Nt 2 for 5 special just look for our sign pinkies platters.

The best part of the food is drowning it in white sauce but if you don't like mayo then you might not like the sauce. I used to see empty gallon containers of mayo near the carts. I do like the ground lamb a lot, might try a gyro next time.

Halal cart food can either be the greatest food ever or a horrible case of bubble guts or both.

It really all depends on what street corner you go to. I do not **** with the guy on Varick near Houston, but up around 23rd and 3rd is the best halal ever, but once you go above the 30's it gets overpriced.

I live in Brooklyn but I never eat Halal there, simply because there's a Jamaican/West Indian spot on every block. And bodegas on every corner that make any food in the world you can think of for under $7 (i've had calimary pizza and a jerk chicken hero w/ provolone just offa being high and going "what if i ordered..."). And Kennedy's on every block.

Brooklyn has A LOT of good food.

eating calamari from a bodega? :x :smh:

There's a Brooklyn cart on 86th and 3rd (correct me if I'm wrong but it's right in front of a bank), that place is actually good. Sammy's in Jackson Heights is straight too and probably my favorite because they put sliced jalapenos on there too.

The one on 53rd and 6th is trash now though. I use to go there in the mid to late 2000s and it was fine. But I went there like 3 times in the last 2.5 years and the food is greasier and fattier and makes me nauseous. Their quality definitely went down the drain.

Nah that was actually a pizza spot called Bella's. That **** was bomb, tho.

Anybody who lives in Flatbush needs to go to Lucky 7 for the best bodega food out. They hooked me up with that jerk chicken hero **** was too smooth. They will literally make you anything :smokin

I'd **** with 53rd and 6th if I was near it but for the most part even looking at halal makes me sick. I just think of all the nasty ***** it has given me and how questionable the meat is :x

Yall can have it

^
It's just some chopped up chicken and lamb. The heavy-ness of the food does hurt my stomach though. I struggle to finish a platter now when I could finish one easily years ago.

As the prices of meat have gone up since 2008 the quality of the meat used in food has gone down so that the prices wouldn't rise as fast. Worse meat = lower quality. Your drunk people at 3am on Saturday probably won't notice much different anyway. But it's there.

They got a shake shack in Vegas now. I'm assuming it will probably make its way to Cali within the next year or so.
