So we comparing pop artist to rappers?
^^^ STOP
Kendrick is the far better rapper than drake when he decides to rap which is 40% of the time and lyrically it's not close. Lamekilla fell off smh. First the future hate, then the hot/cold LeBron **** now this smh, real ***** pass revoked.
Kendrick gives me a better, way better conscious musical content than Drake can ever do.
Tired of hearing music about girls, cars, etc
Kendrick has more grammys than Drake, much higher acclaimed albums, platinum plaques & has been featured on hit songs by pure pop artists like Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 & Sia. Hes accomplished all this WITHOUT SELLING OUT & stayed true to himself and the culture. I just watched a ******* vid of Kendrick freestyling for Charles Hamilton in 09. This man earned his spot by literally coming up from the bottom. He aint use no Degrassi money & showbiz connects to help him. Also FOH with that Drake cant make a bad song if he tried, dude got plenty of trash songs and his last 2 albums ppl were lukewarm about
Drake in my opinion is a entertainer that can't dance.
Drake > Kendrick
And this is just me. Many will opine and disagree. I literally was just talking to my homeboy about this last night too but there's a bravado to Drake that automatically makes him every rappers target on some "who does he think he is?" type steez yet he's a pop superstar, arguably the biggest super star on the planet. As transcendent as hip hop and it's culture have been it's never had a superstar like this. Kendrick is a reincarnation of raw, unfiltered, thorough conscious hip hop. Drake is an evolution. Some type of rap-pop hybrid who couldn't make an underwhelming song if he tried. Him being as commercial as he is you would think would hinder his credibility in hip hop and yet he's still the king of the hill when any rapper is looking to claim themselves to the throne and are looking to compete. Drake can give you any type of sound and content you're looking for. #1 billboard hit with Rihanna or a mixtape classic with Gucci and anything in between. Kendrick doesn't have that flexibility.
We gonna compare singers to rappers to prove this point also?
I'm happy the Falcons got mopped up in the Super Bowl after reading this second half type post of yours.
Horrible dancer. But Beyoncé is an entertainer, not the best singer. Why don't we love Jasmine Sullivan the same?
She doesn't market herself to appeal to the masses. I love J. Sullivan tho. I respect Drake for being able to do THAT. As a fan of hip hop is way you/we look at Beyonce, he is not the best rapper. So just as the title of the thread proclaims. Kendrick is the best RAPPER.
Facts only. Effortlessly goes from making one dance to Digital Dash and 5am in Toronto. Elite.Drake > Kendrick

Drake raps as well. Has accolades in the best rap category is constantly compared to other rappers who are deemed "real" rappers, even in this very thread such as OP's very first post. Only difference is content. Neither could help there upbringing, so it's left to who raps about what they know best.
Cool, but 1 raps 100% of the time and raps better, end of discussion. Idc about the sales, awards, 1 raps better than the other and I don't think the majority really wants to dispute that. Once again he RAPS better. Better songs and all the other ish depends I guess.Drake raps as well. If Kendrick is so great why is he constantly compared to a "pop artist"
Nah, I'm speaking facts. Drake does more than Kendrick and the things they do have in common, there's constant debate over who does it better between the two of them. So drake gets Grammy's, consecutive #1 hits and can collaborate with anyone. Kendrick can't do that.
Why would Kendrick choose to rap only 40% of the time? Are you implying he dumbs his music down?I like to think of myself of the harbinger of the future. We had discussions of Future being wack before subpar EVOL and even more subpar Future/Hndrxx dropped. You know what Future really sounds like @Willchamberlain, are we getting that in 2017? I opened my eyes and accepted Lebron as a once in a generational player after the years of us hating him because I realized he's mentally fragile because he's the first NBA superstar of the social media area and has self esteem issues. I couple of slick comments from Klay Thompson, Ayisha Curry, Draymond Green and Mo Speights, and we get to witness Lebron lead his team to the first game 7 win from a team down 3-1, greatness withstanding beyond all the clown antics. Now with Drake we got dude who just recorded his seventh consecutive number 1 record drop, tied for 1st with Wayne and Em, 2 rappers who will forever be talked about in terms of top MC's. It's not hard to recognize what is and isn't greatness.
Kendrick gives probably the most quality content of music out right now. But More often then not I like for music to take me to feel good places as opposed to reminding me about issues with my community and how I was born with the short end of the stick because of where my ancestors are from. Truth be told experiencing both is good for the psyche. Maybe that's where the dichotomy lies. Sitting at home gathering my thoughts and reflecting to "Ronald Regan Era" is soothing. Being in the VIP popping bottles with fat booty waitresses and sparklers while "100 racks" is blaring through the speakers is fun (@Willchamberlain ok so Future didn't fall all the way off) So which is more hip hop? The conscious thought provoking theme or the money, cars, clothes, world is mine theme? Our community has always spoken highly about the former but preferred the latter. Maybe that's why we speak so highly of Kendrick but Drakes the one doing numbers.
The grammy's are decided amongst people who are not of our culture so if Kendrick has more grammy's then drake, who's really the sell outjokes, but let's not act like the Grammy's as of recent weren't essentially an apology to Kendrick for getting beat in every category GKMC was nominated for by Macklemore a couple years back. GKMC is a better album imo then TPAB which isn't saying it's unworthy, but more so I question if the voters really took in the content of TPAB more than saying "Kendrick is polarizing let's feature him on the program prominently". Conspiracies aside, Degrassi money and showbiz should've destroyed drakes credibility, no? Why is it that he's still enjoyed and even debated in our culture as a top MC? Could be cause he makes good music, could be because he's part Jewish and has entertainment ties in high places. But I'm saying the former only because everybody has at least one drake song that they like, and when I say everyone I mean EVERYONE. I could walk up to your neighbor and ask them to name me a Kendrick Lamar song and they might....not be able to.

Whoever the best at their craft right now can be compared.
FOH y'all are bottom feeders in the NFC east. Y'all putting Brandon Marshall beside OBJ and gonna act shocked when he leaves

As far as content, everyone has different content. That is like me listening to No Doubt to here about them cooking crack. Credibility is another topic. Drake wasn't your first favorite rapper, is almost as that Drake could be like past Will Smith that cursed on records.

I always said that ability is unprecedented. How can you do Hotline Bling and a verse like Big Amount?
By having OVO sweatshop ghost writers
