what is hate towards overweight/fat/obese people? vol. new category of hate

Not everything is passed on to every member of a family. That's how all my father's side of the family is 5'6-5'9 and my uncle is 6'5

Is everyone in your family fat but you? Uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters?
my dad isnt  fat my mom and all her family is . my immediate family,  brothers- sisters are  in there 30s and 40s struggling with diabetes. .

breathing problems because they are so heavy  but they claim genetics. whenever i see them they eat like there is no tomorrow.... drinks dont count as calories for them and they insist they eat around 2000 calories a day .

in they own minds they try so hard.

obesity and diabetes runs in my family on my mothers side as well. i dont have it and im fat cuz of my eating choices so yea its not always genetics at all.

Not trying to enter the argument persay. But as I mentioned before simply being active sometimes just isn't enough. If you want to burn 3500 calories you need to "shock" your system. I've said it about 100 times in here but and I know a lot of people trying to lose weight (not you in particular) seem to resist it. The only way way you're going to come anywhere close burning those type of calories is a consistent muscle building/weight training regiment. You spend far more time out of the gym, or playing basket ball, or doing cardio than you do participating in those things. So why not make your body work for you when you're not doing those things? Those activities burn calories in the here and now and once you stop that's it. But weight training to build muscle burns calories, while your muscles are growing and building (even while you sleep) burns calories, simply just having muscle that comes from consistent training and proper nutrition burns muscle forces your body to burn calories to maintain them. And 90% of that happens during your passive down time. Unless you can get your body to burn more calories on its own it's gonna be tough to hit that mark 3500 mark. Especially if your metabolism is the way you say it is. Again, weight training or lifting doesn't mean body building or trying to look like the hulk. I feel like that is one of the biggest misconceptions that keep people away from the gym. I guarantee you'll drop more fat that way then simply being active and calorie counting.

Sorry I had to repeat that for the 100th time lol

So much truth.

Lifting weights 2 times a week, drinking a lot of water and staying away from unhealthy drinks has helped me lose 30 lbs over the last 5 months. I'm not even going as hard as I should be and I'm seeing positive results. If more overweight folks took it a day at time instead of trying to change thier lifestyle over night, the world would be a lot smaller.

LOL sodas and high sugar drinks will have you hittin 1000 empty calories before lunch. It wasnt till I switched to 100% water that I realized how sluggish all that crap made me feel.

First thing .. go to a dietitian and find out what your calorie intake should be

It's not as simple as a damn calorie calculator from Google

Is a deficit of 3500 calories per week really that hard?
That's 500 calories a day. A slice of bread has about 100 calories. You can cut out the bread for a sandwich, call it a salad, and you only got 300 left to cut down for the day.

I feel like a lot of over weight people are intimidated by the weight lifting because they have the misconception that the end goal of lifting weights is to look like arnold schwarzenegger in his prime when it takes specific nutrition, and specific regiments to look like that. General weight lifting is an amazing way to shed fat, build muscle, and improve your physique at the same time. If someone is serious about losing fat, dieting and cardio work to a point but like I said those things only work in the here and now. If you stop dieting the weight comes back, when you stop doing cardio you stop burning calories. But when you gain muscle, if you keep up a consistent routine, it won't go away and it will burn calories in AND out of the gym.

This was towards the comments about it being difficult to burn 3500 calories and how you need to shock your system.

I have to admit I am prejudiced against arrogant fat women on these online dating sites

im the one who has to burn that much to lose a pound. and cutting 500 a day isnt that simple. cuz i still gotta eat 3000, and burn more than that. an hour of running will burn almost 1000 to put that into perspective. swimming for an hour ~600 cals. id have to run for 3 hours just to break even at 3000, after a 500 calorie deficit. it is difficult.

It's not affecting my life enough, personally, to warrant any hate towards a fat person.

However I do see a trend here. A lot of the fat haters seem to be ex-fat people.

I get a ton of hate from people for smoking cigs. Especially after moving from NY to DC. Also, some people that have quit smoking are the biggest advocates of telling other people to quit and saying how disgusting it is.

Maybe the hatred comes from eventually overcoming what you once had just accepted to be a reality you thought you couldn't control? Then you realize how much you despised that former self once overcoming it? And you start to despise/hate people that used to be like that negative, lesser version of yourself? Like I know if I could quit smoking tomorrow, the benefits would be great and I'd feel better. But realistically, I know that I'm not ready for that right now. And I know it's a disgusting habit. And once I quit I'll be better for it. But for now, I kind of just accept it's a gross habit of mine. Maybe like how fat people just accept being fat? Catch my drift? Or am I way off here?

That's the only explanation I have. If you hate fat people for a reason other than that, like a stranger, that's messed up. I can see the concern if it turns into a medical issue with a family member though.

Today a fat person told me I look like a broke rapper.
I told him I'd make a mixtape with him called "Cooking (and eating everything) In the Kitchen.

He stopped talking to me

possibly. it actually makes sense. i wish u luck in kicking cigs man. as u know, its expensive and handicapping/killing you. Good luck man

^Thanks. I've seen the same thing where like my ex-gfs mom grew up extremely poor but now she's rich and acts like her **** don't stink and despises poor people. I really think once you overcome a large negative aspect of your life you can resent those who resemble that former self.

[thread="623591"]For the guys who are struggling to hit that caloric deficit, you ever try intermittent fasting?[/thread]
[thread="623591"] [/thread]
[thread="623591"]It works really well for me. I usually don't eat until 2pm then eat two big meals in the afternoon and at night. [/thread]

This works with a consistent workout routine and intensity. Plus cardio and a clean diet during feeding time. If you don't see results you're not doing enough and need to make adjustments. Focus, you know your body, know when to kick it up a notch, and you know damn well when you're full of **** and making excuses for yourself. This isn't directed at anyone specific, just a thought.

Yea definitely I was gonna add on but just kept it simple.

If you're serious about hitting the gym 2-3 times a week and are serious about tracking what you consume it works really well.

What I like about is that as long as you're paying attention to your macros, it's not like you're in dietary jail unhappy with what you're allowed to eat like most diets.

I'm 6'4 225 right now, 5 punts to go before I'm back at my pre acl tear weight. So far, I've lost roughly 25 pounds in 3 months. I cut out a lot of calories, and before I got hurt I was hooping and lifting 4-5,a week, and eating 2500 calories a day. The only problem is, when I got hurt I maintained that eating size, and I went up to the low 250. So a couple months ago I completely changed my diet.
I eat two pieces of toast in the morning
A gator are protein bar for lunch which is 350 calories 20 grams of protein and 30 carbs
And I eat a normal dinner. I'll be at my optimal weight again in roughly 2 weeks. I have been pretty disciplined, but it's payed off, and my mom has pretty bad genetics when it comes to weight gain. If people were to be more knowledgeable about how to eat healthier, I feel like the obesity rate would definitely go down. Some people don't ha e the option to try healthier food too, and that contributes as well. I don't think most overweight people know what it feels like to eat a solid diet, and feel good, but I feel like people should at least be able to have the option

I dont hate fat people but the excuses why they cant lose weight are ridiculous. I could whip anybody into shape if they followed the plan i made for them. People dont want to do that tho they want to look for a magic pill instead of embracing the hard work it takes to do it. With a good diet weight training program and some cardio the lbs will melt off.

I really can't talk **** cuz although I've never had weight problems I've smashed a few #NTTHICK chicks in my day smh

This. I can't talk about it because I'm slightly overweight myself  but I've been trying to lose weight. I'm lazy ain't gonna lie but it's hard for me to stay consistent with working out but I've got a handle on my diet
