Wow people didn't like Jessica Jones?

I'm probably not the majority. Acting was cringe worthy at times. JJ strength varies from ep to ep. She was cute to look at but character was boring. She wasn't very rationale in most of her actions. Especially capturing someone as dangerous as killgrave???? Maybe take some better precautions. Killgrave's way of making sure he had control of JJ was to have her lesbian kiss? Cmon killgrave, you were a genius most of the show. Now you're just some bro with powers doing silliness?? Have JJ kill one of the ppl there. One of the things she swore she wouldn't ever do again. JJ is supposed to be an investigator. Her way of defeating KG was to just become immune to his powers? Lazy, teenage writing. Show felt too low budget at times. I'll say it again. Powers are inconsistent. Luke Cage survives a bomb with no scratch. A knife to the neck, bends. BUT shotgun blast. Oh no! My head!! :x Fight scenes were trash. I tried hard to like it, if thats worth anything. Killgrave got me to enjoy with his scenes. He's so believable as a mind controlling villian(till the death scene). Like Shane is as the punisher... The rest of the problems stated, takes me out of the world of JJ.. sadly.

JJ just wasn't fun to watch. Still a solid series but it became a grind at times.

I liked JJ's first season better than dd's first season. I like the gloom and depressing tone of the show. I thought kingpin was unbearable to watch in dd.

Different strokes.

I really liked JJ S1. Only thing that annoyed me was Simpson. Everybody else was good to great.

Lol Luke Cage's internal organs aren't invulnerable..only his skin.

The shotgun blast at close range to his skull can do damage to his insides

It's about impact.

That was a gas leak explosion right? Wasn't like he was at the epicenter of the explosion and shrugged it off. He was in a pretty spacious bar.

Its not about impact with explosions necessarily. Everything gets pushed out the way. Overpressure happens. You can have serious organ damage, ruptured arteries/eardrum. All While your skin is intact. If you wanna talk impact, no debris went flying Luke's way? was just too inconsistent. Concussion by shotgun but not explosion.

Edit: An "explosion" is a blast and shock waves travel faster than the speed of sound. Will go through your organs and skeleton.

It's about impact for Luke Cage; his unbreakable skin, durability, and if his internal organs are damaged.

What kind of debris is gonna hit him so hard that it damages his internal organs when he can shrug off being hit by a car?

A point blank gun shot from a shotgun has a better chance of doing internal damage because the close range and caliber of the shot can shake his brain.

An "explosion" is a blast and shock waves travel faster than the speed of sound. Will go through your organs and skeleton.
That's if he's close enough where the blast and shock waves are strong enough to damage his organs after getting through his unbreakable skin.

JJ wasn't trying to become immune to Kilgrave. It just happened. She didn't realize that it happened until near the end of the season.

He probably wasn't that near the immediate blast radius of that bomb in the bar. Probably the worst that happened is he got hit by some debris and fire crawled over his skin, which can't penetrate it.

But when you eat a shotgun blast at point blank range it's going to shake up his insides literally.

As for the grenade vid. It clearly shows, it's not about the concussive force with a grenade. It's not strong enough(contrary to movies), unless really close. Its the shrapnel that can kill you. The explosion in Cage's bar was clearly more than a grenade.

Overpressure (or blast overpressure) is the pressure caused by a shock wave over and above normal atmospheric pressure. The shock wave may be caused by sonic boom or by explosion.
Blast overpressure (BOP), also known as high energy impulse noise, is a damaging outcome of explosive detonations and firing of weapons. Exposure to BOP shock waves alone results in injury predominantly to the hollow organ systems such as auditory, respiratory, and gastrointestinal systems.

But hey... I guess I'm nitpicking.

You keep talking about the explosion but ignore Cage's super power.

His ability isn't something you can easily just hand wave to talk about how destructive the explosion is. Keep in mind we're dealing with super powered ppl.

Never would've guessed he had super powers. So shotgun>explosion. It makes perfect sense now. Thanks.

They made a bad casting choice for Luke Cage to me. He doesn't seem to have any clue on how to sell "fighting". That first bar scene was piss poor. I still enjoyed the whole season Luke Cage was prob the most abysmal

I think, in regards to this whole explosion conversation, although yes an explosion will have an effect on a persons internals you do have to factor in how much damage his stronger skin would deflect and what would remain afterwards.

Like with the shotgun shot, normally of course would likely leave a person looking like a bit lollipop, in and out, but because of LC skin it absorb/brushed off a lot of damage even though it still left him messed up, while the explosion was covered more area making the impact larger but not as strong allowing his skin absorb more and leaving very little actual damage

Jessica Jones Season 1 is one of the greatest seasons of TV.

DD S2 > JJ S1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DD S1 > GoT S1-current / Breaking Bad/ etc

Guess you forgot that since you were busy talking about explosions and shock waves.

When we're talking about his super power, yeah. You do know what happens when your brain gets rattled inside your skull right? Maybe that's what you're not getting? :nerd:

You act like this show is not based off a comic book but real world science
