Lakers don't need this beta mentality on the team...

Marc Gasol has no interest in Lakers

Marc Gasol has no interest in the Lakers because of the uneasy last few years his brother spent with them, according to numerous people familiar with the situation. Versatile big man Greg Monroe, oft-injured Brook Lopez and his workman-like brother, Robin, are other alternatives at center.

I don't blame him at all.

That squad should be able to win the Vegas summer league championship.

All Lakers summer league games will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, as well as NBA TV.
Does anyone have any experience going to Vegas league games?

Could me and mine just show up and get tix the day of the event? Or will it most likely be sold out?

I've watched on tv before, and it didn't seem overly packed.

I would go after Aaron Afflalo in a sign & trade, and use that in my pitch to LaMarcus Aldridge.

And say look we're going after Aaron, he's an LA guy. And give compensation to Portland for him. So if you were willing to leave Portland for Los Angeles, you would not be leaving Portland empty handed.

Then we could trade Ryan Kelly, Jabari Brown, Vander Blue, Robert Sacre & 2 - Second Round Picks for Aaron Afflalo. Not a great haul, but it's something in return for two guys who were going to leave.

We'd be paying Afflalo about $7.1mil the first year, a total of $30.8mil over 4. Giving a player option in Year 4.

I'm thinking Wes Matthews market is around $10-12mil. Which would put Aaron Afflalo at $8-10mil. So it'd be a slight discount to play at home. Could put a nice trade kicker on his contract, so if we tried to move him, he'd recoup a couple mil.

If we trade Nick Young with Kelly & Brown, we could offer $10mil first year, and it'd be 4 year / $43mil. That'd be a little high for my tastes.

Then 2016, we only need 2 pieces. A Star, A defensive Big man. Both of those are available next offseason.

No experience, but have read on it enough to have an idea...

get the day tix, show up around halftime or so of the game before the Lakers game and you should be good I think
We don't want you either, Marc.
Agreed.

If you don't like coming to Los Angeles, we didn't want you in the first place tbh

Nah to Afflao

I always liked Afflalo, but his play fluctuates year to year more than I would like and he's approaching his 30s and he's un-athletic to begin with.

If it gets Aldridge to the table and sign.. Then you do it.

Fills in a need, and you gave up only 2nd Round picks.

He's also willing to accept lesser roles in the past.

$10mil as I said is high. But that's how much you could offer if Nick is in the deal. Which I doubt.

Well if you want to fill out the roster, and sign a 30% max level player.. That's legitimately the one guy that allows it all to take place.
I mean I hear ya bro u right, but Affalo just what we need we can do better than him thats my dude too since HS Days

Didnt even realize he 30

You actually can't do better if you sign Aldridge, Love, Jordan or Gasol. If any of them come here.

It's also predicated on Aldridge coming.

I've never been, but from what I remember they use two arenas so you want to be sure you are going to the right one (Cox and T&M). I'm sure it's going to be chaos Friday (vs Minnesota) and Saturday (vs New York).

And this is why you can't just be focused on the bottom line, treat players like commodities and flip them for pennies on the dollar the first chance you get. As much business sense as it makes it would've been a slap in the face to trade pau for bynum's corpse in a salary dump after jerking him around with his name in and out of trade talks. Especially to a dump like cleveland with no lebron. The veto didn't help chemistry either

I went to Summer League when it was in Long Beach and it was one fee for the entire day's games

Not sure if Vegas is the same set up

i usually go every summer and yes you usually pay for the entire day games. One ticket. Summer league is held at the T&M Arena in Vegas

I remember summer league in Long Beach was so awesome. It was low key and you could easily meet the players. I remember I met Bynum, farmer, Abdul Jabbar, Richard Jefferson. I Remember one day Mitch kupchak was literally siting right behind me in the stands It was open seating and if there early you can just walk up to the players with no resistance.
