Paging @essential1.

How would a back loaded deal look on your spreadsheet for a max FA to pursue another 2nd tier FA this season? And the next few yrs going forward assuming the cap jump to over 80M+kobe coming off books(assuming retirement either this yr or next). What is the minimum(floor for 1st/2nd yr salaries in a max deal) in accordance to the CBA? Just wondering...

Cuz u have to concern yourself in maxing one player and leaving the cupboard bare and just filling out the rest with a 3rd or 4th tier FA this yr after thr max FA is signed+vet mins+room exception even after declining hills option and ed opting out.

Thanks in advance.

I mean you can't really back load a deal.

It's basically year by year with maximum of 5% raises.

OK. Thanks...so at 4/80...The best we can do is yr 1-18.5mill...yr 2-19.4mill...yr3-20.5mill..yr 3-21.7mill or something.

I guess with some tinkering and creativity u can still pursue a tier 3 FA@around 6th annual ave salary+room exception.

Thanks.

To pursue a bigger name, it would have to be in a S&T.

Ryan Kelly, Nick Young, Tarik Black, Jabari Brown & Some 2nd Rounders opens us up to $9.3mil after 2 cap holds.

Just have to find the right name.

That was fast. Good lookin out. I guess some of the non guaranteeds would have to be let go of in order to create around 1.8M in space. And I see u have Upshaw on there.(as in u assume a roster spot) Outstanding.

Lakers got to trade away Swaggy P.. I can't take them seriously when hes on the active roster.

I just find it hard to believe that he doesn't make the roster. Like he'll have to really screw up. That's my guess on what he'll get.

But it isn't really the non-guarantees. Just find the right person to trade a package for it.

I.e. if the Blazers are really going to lose Aldridge, they likely lose Lopez & Wes Matthews.. So offer them Tarik Black, Ryan Kelly, Jabari Brown, 2- 2nd Rounders + Nick Young to make it work, and get whoever you can for $9.3mil

It's gonna be an interesting 72 hours. Who ever they throw 4/80-84 at....I'll embrace. DJ. LMA. A combination of RoLo/Harris...whichever, I'll consider a success.

LMA first year is 18.8, no?

Read somethin on him from here. (They are borderline ready to riot, pray for me and Chester). He was unhappy the franchise didn't make him the focus. They gave everything to Lillard. He played last season hurt, they barely acknowledged it. In 9 years, he's been to second round, once.

He has old men Spurs, or baby Lakers. We made him our #1 visit. We have a shot, but Pop is a good seller too. We'll see in 24+ hours.

He's a 30% max. 30% of 67.1 is $20.13mil

Any chance LMA takes less because he knows it'll allow us to bring another FA , say 15 mil/per

You never know...

Ehhh I doubt it. Because taking less means he could just go to San Antonio, and have a couple year window now.

Unless he REALLY believes we have a shot at luring FAs in 2016, and is up on the cap math... I doubt it.

Would I like him at $17mil? Absolutely. Also think he makes all that money up within a few weeks, but don't see him leaving money on the table.

No. They'll offer full max as sign of respect. Same way they did Melo. I'm hoping SA asks him to take less, that will go against them.

What's 25? Is that 18.8? Cuz that's what's bein reported.

25% is $16.775mil

I think people are all over the place with different cap numbers, which gives different max numbers. The number I've consistently heard was $67.1mil

edit: $18.8mil is with a $63mil cap, which is what it is now.
