I like Lma as a stop gap, bridge type of guy. You're not gonna win any chips with him most likely but you'll make some noise, get your young guys some good experience and by the time he's gone your core will be ready to cook and used to winning.

It's basically when pau gasol came to the lakers right? Same
Age same and same contract?

Nah I think pau was younger and had only a year left on his deal.

The more I think about it tho a team with lma at 5 might be able to go deep in the playoffs if they catch the right matchups. Guys like dwight and deandre won't expose lma's post defense and will be less effective protecting the rim since they have to guard him all the way to the 3 line. Definitely would be a fun team to watch. Hell, kat towns ceiling is basically aldridge with elite defense

I remember summer league in Long Beach was so awesome. It was low key and you could easily meet the players. I remember I met Bynum, farmer, Abdul Jabbar, Richard Jefferson. I Remember one day Mitch kupchak was literally siting right behind me in the stands It was open seating and if there early you can just walk up to the players with no resistance.
Repped!!! I remember the 96 Summer League for Kobe's rookie season. I never remembered the Pyramid being so packed before his 1st summer league game. Good times!!! Wish the Summer Pro League never left Long Beach

No experience, but have read on it enough to have an idea...

get the day tix, show up around halftime or so of the game before the Lakers game and you should be good I think

Agreed.

If you don't like coming to Los Angeles, we didn't want you in the first place tbh
We don't want you either, Marc.
We? Show me your papers please

I was on the fence about who I wanted us to pick up in the draft but after seeing how many people are excited about Russell I'm glad we picked him up. I just didn't want us trading the #2 + other assets for Cousins, not a fan of him at all. Bleacher Report throwing more stuff out about how the Lakers are reportedly willing to part with Russell for Cousins. Hoping this is just more hoopla. Seems like Mitch and co. are really high on Russell, wanna see this team grow with him leading the way.

Kind of how I was viewing it. Get good enough and get in the playoffs and go from there. I'm getting those same feelings I had in the Nick Van Exel days.

Exciting days... Not that iffy feeling of over paying for stars past their prime! One reason I am 100% against Wade to LA. I think all that noise is most likely coming from his people as a tool

So glad team tank is ending... Didn't sit right with me at all.

There's absolutely no chance we trade Russell for cousins.

People off the Kevin Love train already?

Although Love is a great player I just don't know how well he fits in with Randle.

I honestly think it can work between the two of them... I just don't think he's worth the $17-20 million he's gonna want from us.

So who's this European player that Kobe made cry? It couldn't be Slava or Sasha because Kobe said he can't even pronounce their name.

Anyone remember European players on the preseason roster back in the day?

Soumaila Samake (African technically)?

I think it was Machine, because he always seemed like an emotional guy.

Kobe did say he was like 20 at the time so we're gonna have to jump in the way back machine to get to the bottom of this

I doubt this team is good enough to get in the playoffs in the west, even with LMA. Who was the last rookie PG to take a basement team to the playoffs?

I guess that could change come summer league. If we are blowing out every other team, this team could make some noise in the pros.

My free agent targets by order:

1. Butler (Kawhi)

2. Deandre (LMA > Gasol > Love > Robin Lopez >  Milsap > Monroe)

3. Draymond at no more that 16mil ( Tobias > Carroll > Danny Green > Wes Mathews>  Afflalo > Aminu)

I think we could take portland's spot if we get Lma, always felt they were overacheivers. If dallas doesn't get jordan they should be in all out tank mode to keep their pick. And then if jordan leaves the clippers they become a fringe team so there's 3 potential seeds opening up.
