How the hell can we be able to offer him a max deal, be a historic franchise, an area that he consistently stays in during the offseason, have him be the face of the franchise after kobe leaves in a year, have a ton of cap room in the next 2 years, have some very good young talent and yet still botch the meeting?

And who the hell was in that meeting that would tell Woj it didn't go well?

It's not about just LMA though. Dwight, Melo, LMA soon to be DJ all of these guys turning down max money to come here. It's a pattern, a disturbing one.

Dwight Wasn't getting us to a chip and he's a mental ****** good riddance..
Melo was CLEARLY trying to get the money
LMA wants a team that can win now

Suddenly dudes are acting like the Lakers are Cle as far as FA destinations..

Even if we don't land a soul this off season.. We have two lottery picks who can show their worth this year. 3 other young guys who can make a solid impression, Kobe coming off the Books & If we don't make any big signings we will have the cap to sign TWO Max players next year..

LA going into FA next year is much different than L.A going into FA 2-3 seasons ago.

The Lakers had no core whatsover and no direction once Dwight left, they have slowly built that core, have a season to showcase their young talent, and are still the Lakers..

What does CP think about all this madness?

My guess is he wants to win NOW and there's no guarantee Kobe is gone after this year

A few days ago all you dudes were happy and joyful about our future with DLo and Randle... Now you're crying end of the world because we didn't land LaMarcus Aldridge

Not necessarily end of the world, but surely end of this season. We definitely do not have enough to compete with the monstars in the west. Next summer is a new opportunity to try again, a bunch more cap, and open roster spots. The key in understanding is that, if we're going to lose, lose enough to at least benefit us later. Staying in that 30-40 win range in the West is a complete waste of time and effort. Not that I see this team having enough enough to get that high. I based my happiness and excitement on getting LMA, and then maybe lopez, or them finding a way to get DJ, or putting a package together for DMC. We got nothing so far. Literally. We've signed nobody. But we did pick up Sacre option. So there's that. >_>

Funny you still think any of this matters. This "we're still the Lakers" shtick doesn't for anymore. If we don't sign anyone we'll be in exactly the same position as this season, except without a draft pick and more max cap space for KD and others who want to win immediately to turn down.

Even if we strike out with these expensive *** dudes who cares.

We get to watch Russ, Clarkson, and Randle develop. It's going to be a fun season.

Once Kobes contract is done we'll have 10 TIMES MORE CAP SPACE NEXT YEAR.

PLUS A HUGE INCREASE IN THE CAP WHICH GIVES US EVEN MORE ROOM TO SPEND.

It's all going to benefit is in the long run either way.

No one wants our cap LTB. No one.

And in 2017 we'll have even more money forthe top guys to not take.
