All these months of waiting, and I still can't shake the feeling that this shoe will disappoint.

Disappointment is all apart of the consumer manufacturer game. Jordan has been in this long enough to know and understand the want of the people and when you advertise 30 years of excellence you have no choice but to come with 30 years of exactly that. If not then sales and fan appreciation will show.

That would be the very first time that they scrap a design that was already approved but gets completely redesigned.
However, like someone else mentioned here before, the delay of release might be caused by the fact, that JB or MJ himself was not satisfied with the latest design or having quality issues that needs to be fixed.
I sure don't want an air jordan that has issues like the zoom air bag popping on the xx8.
That was a big minus of a great basketball shoe.

Nah, that's just to celebrate a new store opening. I'm sure all the other retailers would be pissed if JB unveiled the XXX at a FA only event.

We are all in the know when it comes to the sneaker birthday on the size tag so we can all agree that earlier this year this shoes was already being produced. As I'm writing this the 3rd or 4th colorway is being sewn together in some slave factory oversees so the concept of last minute changes/adjustments is IMO out the door at this point.

But that wouldn't be a production thing, it'd be a marketing and branding thing with the porn association with the XXX which wouldn't mean they'd have to do a redesign. That would mean designing and making a shoe, scrapping, and restarting the design process. If anything it's probably like in the case with the rising sun 12s where that colorway had to have the insoles replaced and had a staggered release if I remember right. Some pairs got away with the original insoles and later pairs were sent out with the insoles replaced.
Dude said earlier he still stands behind the porn thing being the reason why they haven't been unveiled. idk to me it's starting to look like it might just be a 30th anniversary shoe releasing in the 31st year of business now. I mean, when would they release the shoe amongst all these retros?

last yr xx9s came out on days retros came out, people mostly bought the xx9s when the discos hit while scooping the retroes at retail

Just a thought here. What if the Air Jordan 30 is actually the Nike Air Ship (the actual shoe to get banned by the NBA not the AJ 1) it has never been retroed before. Of course if it is it'll be a modified version of it fit todays technology kind of like how Tinker did with the Air Max Zero. But no pictures have surfaced or anything i'm just saying maybe it is the Nike Air Ship a modified version of it. We'll have to wait and see.

There was an article written about this time last year speculating that the air ship could retro with an AJ1 as a pack. Google air ship and you'll see it.
I think there will be plenty of cool surprises this year for the XXX and 30 year anniversary

I spoke to someone who works directly with jordan brand. said the 30 model was approved, by everyone except Jordan...so it was scraped. Very unfortunate. and now its based off the model 29 with tinker hatfield helping design and make a few tweaks. Will be dropping Allstar break.

I have no idea how much of this is true but I would like to see what supposedly wasn't approved. considering what he's been approving (assuming he even needs to these days) it would have had to be absolutely cringeworthy. I don't think they would keep him out of the loop for so long then show him the finished product and he says no. not impossible but sounds very unlikely. I think they just simply want to start debuting the sigs around the allstar hype

i totally believe the delay is due to some mess up, tech glitch or fickle MJ. i really doubt it is intentional, since it will only harm hype, not help it.

I kinda want that trainer that Marcus Jordan leaked. They looked dope, had that rick Owens influence in them.. kinda want them now knowing they aren't the 30 because they won't be hyped, but knowing JB they'll probably drop em in multiple colors and then all the same colors again with 3m somewhere in the shoe and then I won't want them anymore

When in doubt and when ppl don't have concrete evidence..... Just blame MJ and most ppl will go along with it.... JB/Nike is way bigger than one man, it seems ppl forgot the article posted earlier. That mentioned Tinker and MJ met earlier this year, to go over the final details. But hey let's blame MJ... Because we don't what's going on behind-the-scenes
