Is Your State Racist?

You say that like this is the only state that ever happens in... ever

Let's put it this way, MY North Carolina isn't racist.
NC not racist? c'mon man.. spend a few hours in Raleigh

I was in Raleigh for a week, I didn't feel out of place.
Maybe I just luck out everytime I leave my area

It's the little things. At a restaurants being seated at the far corner near the rest rooms.. followed and stalked in the mall while browsing in stores. Always see white dudes bumping chief keef and migos in their lifted pickups and jeeps with confederate flags on the back. Be the first dudes to say the N word with a quickness too. City is backwards.

This is actually true

I'm not understanding how white dudes in pick ups listening to Migos and Keef gawd makes the place racist. I'm not trying to come at you, just genuinely curious since I'm planning a move to NC and would like to know what to expect.

This
I'm still not convinced it's THAT racist over here

There's racism everywhere, I feel NC is just like everywhere else. It's not Georgia in this *****

That example was more on how the city Raleigh is backwards. Just know you'll deal with some forms of racism here and there in NC.

Don't know what part of Raleigh you talking. Been sat in corners? Really dog?

Tell them you not sitting there. I've never experienced this nonsense you taking.

But yea you'd be a fool to think racism isn't everywhere.

Dude talking silly. Is Raleigh conservative city? Yea I think so but my last place was in SoCal. For a young brother doing your thing you will flourish in this city.

Money to make
Cost of living
And women

It's def not atl or Charlotte for that matter but if you single you will enjoy this place.

I mean I just wanna know what parts, so i can be on point when I go in these areas.

spots in the mall at crabtree, places in brier creek. There's been multiple times where I've been followed by the workers were they've faked folding clothes just to keep an eye on me lol. It's obvious. Maybe that's never happened to you. Neighbors who don't speak but party with the other white neighbors and what not. I've grown up in this city, went through the school system and dealt with prejudice and racism from classmates. My senior prom had a white parent  yell "lets take pictures of the immigrants now" to me and my date. It's relevant here. Not saying it's not a city where a young black man can flourish and be successful. But you will deal with little petty racism here.. Which is everywhere.

Nah those little things in moderate southern states like VA or NC exist, but it's not enough to ruin your day. I get what he's saying, ie them telling you the price of an item you are already clearly prepared to buy, or a coworker you hang out with regularly freaking out if you ever dated their daughter. Those happen but the good weather, good women, southern hospitality etc override it. Not like some extreme **** you see in states like Alabama. NY is actually heavily segregated too.

And I do not vouch for this.

I've never had a problem with racism here...

Word. No way in hell I would live here in NC, or Charlotte specifically if it was a racist city. I'm a 34 year old brown guy and never experienced a thing, even being from a small town about an hr from CLT.

But racism as a whole is everywhere. No matter where you live, it's prevalent. Yes, some areas are worse than others.

Im steady trying to tell Houstonians Houston isnt really racists at all....

EDIT: I dont think some understand. Yes, there is racism every where, but there are some people that are I-dont-give-a-****-blantant racist.
Come on fam...
Katy
River oaks
Woodlands
Kingwood
Bellaire(especially the one time)
Parts of Montrose
The "gentrified" parts of the trey(which is ironic in itself)
Sugar Land(I'm a homeowner with a wife and kid and the cops have been called on me twice before I even reached my house[emoji]128512[/emoji])
Yes Houston is very racist but some parts are good at concealing it.
But I respect what your saying..

Thinking about it, it's really a shame we've gotten so used to the slick undercover **** we deem it "not really racist".

Im hardly in any of these areas to actually know, but i can definitely vouch for Bellaire. Honestly, It's more ****** cop mess here than actual racism here, it which I'd add crappy Pasadena to that list. The food in Montrose :smokin. Only been to Kingwood and Woodlands for track and CC meets, so other than that I have no reason to even go through there. Scarface and Clyde Drexler were living in River Oaks at one time, knowing damn well they had no reason to be smoozing with people who didn't give a **** about them.
