Headed to Miami

miami is cool, just came back...that uber from miami beach to miami got expensive, explored little havana/calle ocho for an afternoon...went to Versailles for lunch (so good, cheap too), went to the Cuban Crafters cigar factory (great place)...

stayed at the Freehand Miami...met a ton of Europeans staying there, really nice place and the pool was great, also becomes the bar, Broken Shaker, in the evening and the place was PACKED after 10pm, couldn't even get a seat as guests at the hotel

Yall trippin. Miami has everything, women, weather, food. Every plaza has a cuban joint that's better than NY's best restaurant. Ny home of the thinnest pizza and the fattest people. Yall always come down here during winter because the cold weather is just one of the many things nyers ***** and moan about. Hating on how we can hit the beach in november while yall staying in your apartments hoping the people living above you will stop talking about which bodega sells the best hot chocolate.

OP there is plenty you can do with your girl down here. The obvious has been stated in beach and clubs. You can take a walk around the grove, explore brickell, take her out to see the skyline from the Macarthur causeway, explore some of the local cuban spots, etc.

To your defense, a cuban place in Miami > A cuban place in NY/NJ. You still kinda reaching with that.

The best pizza I ever had was in......Connecticut. seriously

everything else you said is true. As an Up-North cat, you NY ****** need to know what life is outside the tri-state. Stop it with that NY Bias

Chef Creole is a must! Gotta go in the hood tho but that's where all the good food is at.

When I was living there, my favorite little getaway was driving to Key West. Such awesome scenery during the drive, you don't even have to go all the way down to Key West. I would usually stop in Islamorada (about halfway). Always stopped by the Whale Harbor for their buffet. Although the traffic can get very real, since its only one way in & out.

Thread bump.. Sobe fellas trip coming up in Oct.  Anyone ever get into the Standard or Clevelander's, topless pool w/o staying there?  Any other topless pools in the vincinity?

I used to stay at the Standard every time I was in Miami. So fly.

Cold plunge pool outdoors and saunas inside are :smokin

They really jacked up the rates over the last year. So I don't stay as often. But I love it.

I always stay in the same room. Overlooking the pool. There is a certain serenity that comes with waking up, stepping out your door and seeing topless women around a pool.

Hard to have a bad day after that.

Said it before and I'll say it again, Jazid on reggae or hip-hop nights > _. $20 cover and you're in a little live as hell bar/club rollin up on the bar, smokin freely, and getting drunk. Downstairs usually has live music and upstairs has a DJ. Joint cracks till 4a easy.

I've actually never stayed at the Standard. Generally SLS, Shoreclub etc.  We're thinking of doing an Airbnb this go.. thats why i was curious of any possible finagling of the poolside

I like the Standard because it's right between South Beach and downtown. So for Ultra Weekend in particular, the location is good money.

They do try to keep the pool under control. I could see a way to get there low key.

You would go through the lobby to the outdoor area, walk along the rooms on the left hand side, go through the tunnels on your left so you're on the FAR left side of the outdoor area.

Then go down the pool and you'll come out on the dock and I don't think they have anyone back there. The towel dudes are usually at the front of the pool. That's usually who you "check in" with when you go to the pool.

I'm staying at the SLS for the first time next month. Anything I need to know?

Good insights. Thanks!

We generally stay at SLS for Hyde Beach pool party; too easy to get chicks, grab sushi from Katsuya, and take the party upstairs.  Rooms are super small, drinks crazy expensive just like everywhere else.  Its definitely not worth the high price that it goes for often.  But for around 250$/n I think its worthwhile.  Theres another pool on site too, a smaller guests only one.

What up fam. Joint is the truth. Telling you. It's hood as F but I'm telling y'all the joint cranks. You will have the time of your life wilin' out in there.

One thing I love about South Beach (and I don't really even smoke like that), is that you can hold 20 grams or less and it's only $100 fine or a day to two of community service (and it's your choice what you get). Hence, you can smoke freely damn near anywhere. We need that across the country stat.
