The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt ===== In Stores Now (PS4, PC, XB1)

My gwent deck is trash and I suck at it but I love gwent still

This is my game of the year even after playing Batman.

I hear that.
Just keep playing any new random merchants in small towns. They're usually pretty easy to beat, but they still reward some decent cards. You'll have solid deck in no time

Some merchants sell cards too so I buy up all that I see.

Oh right I forgot about that too. This is def good advice to build your deck up.

When I was still in the early game, and money was tight, I always passed up the chance to buy cards.
But later on, its pretty much necessary to build out the other Gwent armies by buying new cards from merchants.

I've always noticed some stuttering during cutscenes playing on PS4, but it never really bothered me. Overall, the game has played very well for me with only a few minor glitches here and there. I'm glad they're addressing the issues though.

So my next main quest is Isle of Mists and it looks like that starts the last portion of the game. I've explored all of White Orchad and most of Velen and Novigrad, but very little of Skellige. I'll probably knock out some of those side quests and undiscovered locations, but it feels like completing Skellige will take some time.

Still in velen completing side quests lvl 14 the last time I checked. I started off straight magic but now these bombs got me hooked.

Anyone do the Black Pearl mission? Probably the dumbest mission i've ever seen in a game.

I believe this quest is glitched after the recent patch, 1.07. After finding the pearl, you have to swim back to save the guy from 3 drowners and they spawn so quickly and the guy dies after one hit, that it seems impossible to complete.

From what I read on other forums, it's a common problem after the patch.

I even did the workaround method that was suggested on forums. I got the pearl before I started the mission. I put one foot in the water then tried to quickly turn around and give it to him. Drowners popped up in less than a second and murked him.

I think I'm going to pick this game up.

mainly a sports game guy. but always played assassins creed. picked up arkham knight and 99%d it so now I'm itching to play more non sports games.

anything I should know before going into it. you can even spoil me a little. I want to get off on the right foot with the game to make it as enjoyable as possible.

value your guys opinions let me know.

Just know this game is great and has legs. You'll be playing for awhile if you pace yourself. Don't forget to make potions and stuff. Prep time matters. I kinda want to see CD PROJEKT RED do a batman game now.

what game would you compare it to?

I could be completely off (don't flame me lol) with mentioning this but, ocarina of time is my favorite game ever. I know I'm going back over 15 years but would this game be anything like that just on a way more advanced scale and more RPG?

In a sense I get what you mean. This is RPG about being a monster hunter for pay. There's a main story about Geralt trying to find his adoptive daughter but for the most part you are hunt monster to get money and help villagers.

The game is quest based and for the most part, it's an open world; although in reality, the game is made up of 3 maps which are all pretty expansive. You have your main story quests and then side quests, Witcher contracts and weapon quests. All the side stuff is opened up by visiting towns and going to notice boards and talking to people which are marked out for you. There are also undiscovered locations in every area for you to explore, which are marked with a ? on the map and provide a small variety of activities ranging from saving a person, killing bandits, killing a monster nest, exploring caves, etc.

The side quests do have some variety, although most of them are based on a similar structure of go to area A, find a clue, follow the clue and find the item/person you're looking for. While this may sound repetitive, the stories and characters are interesting enough, the combat is fun enough and the asthetics of the game make you want to explore everything there is to offer.

If you enjoyed OoT, I think you'll find this game to be enjoyable. I'd say that if you have the patience, don't skip cutscenes and listen to th dialogue and story. It adds to the immersion.
