I don't care. Never did. What another man does with his **** that doesn't involve children or helpless adults isn't my problem.

They should've always had that right. Denying them of it was always the injustice especially with the arguments they had against it.

I will say overall I don't care and don't respect the institute of marriage in general.

As long as you have consenting adults, do whatever makes you happy..

Although, I think religious denominations who are opposed to gay marriage should not be forced to hold the ceremonies

Especially since there are tax benefits and other legal stuff that comes with being wedded.. I look at it more from that perspective, gays should have access to those rights

Funny, kids shouldn't be forced into a religious denomination at birth.

Ironic innit?

Hopefully the parent(s) educates the kid and allows them to make well thought out decisions.. Then obviously when they're an adult they can do whatever the hell they want

I'm well aware of the negative history from the various religious denominations (which is extremely disappointing when you think of what the basis fundamental teachings of most of them are).. Hell I'm generally opposed to anyone staunchly sticking to any belief and disregarding any "new" info

But who knows.. Maybe those groups who consider eating certain things are right about that being a sin.. That's their prerogative

As I said in another thread, I always felt the liberties that came with marriage should have always been extended, because its respectful: tax status, visitation rights, insurance coverage, etc. All people groups should be respected by the government of the land they reside in, no matter what. I just feel they should call it something else. Zest bond, Sameship, or something catchy. They coulda decided and come up with something dope sounding. But whats done is done. Life goes on. There are far more pressing issues to worry bout

I don't see why they need to call it something else.

This is where biblical adherence comes in.
As a Bible believer, God created all organically including man and woman.
He created them for each other. Their covenant with each other is marriage.
Its exclusive. So including homosex relationships in that is redefining what God has already defined according to scripture.
This covenant is the foundation of life and life does not spring forth from homosex bonds.
Thats what makes it an issue, including that union in marriage.
I dont expect you to agree but I hope I articulated this where you and others have clearer insight.

i picked the latter but i think there should be another choice in the poll...indifferent.. cause i could care less who marries who.

my life has not changed one bit. the only time this even crosses my mind is on NT.

My dude said "zest bond" tho. :smh:

Personally, I'm glad that marriage equality is now a real thing. There's no reason 2 people who love each other shouldn't be able to get married.

Marriage is a legal institution in the USA, so I don't see why any religious group should dictate what is allowed in a marriage. I guess I'm just not understanding how homosexual couples using the term marriage affects you. I get that it's against your beliefs, but that doesn't explain why they should use another term.

Only problems I see is this may make people come out more, and the more homosexuals we have out there, there's a chance there can be an increase in hate crime upon them from someone who despises their kind.

Another issue I see is if married homosexual couples can adopt kids, how will the kid and its own peers react to it, and realizing that two same sex parents aren't the norm as they get older? Kids may not have that true "Motherly love" or that true "Father figure".

Yea, at first I thought you might have been a real poster. I know better now.

Nice Avy though.

I'm just trying to continue the conversation and put in some more thought when it comes to the future. I don't know what you mean, but to each his own I guess.

I honestly don't care. Doesn't impact my life in anyway that I know of at the moment.
Go on and flourish

This is pretty much how I feel. I don't care either way. I mean, yeah, I'm glad gays can get married, but I was just sick and tired of the back and forth for so long. I'm glad we've moved past it and can focus on other things.
