Makes sense since he did have a rough upbringing...his tats tell a lot of his story.

I agree with the terminology being dependent on location. The whole American "Football" thing used to confuse the hell out of me when I was a kid since I grew up a footy fan first

Yeah even though I don't know everything about his upbringing i know enough to make me want to see the dude be great.

Although I can't do it openly now because of his current club lol

I hear you,his past is what keeps him grounded and hungry word to his "Dreamchaser" tat. I feel the same way and not just because he's at MU. I would've wanted to see him flourish even if he had chosen to join PSG over the summer.

 You can still be a fan of his. I'm still a fan of Raheem,Yaya,Kun and Silva despite their club allegiances .

When he had those two goals in the qualifying round I was like

In America, Football is Football and Soccer is Soccer. That's the way it is and that's the way it's gonna be. Don't know why the Brits are getting their jimmies rustled over a term they coined.

"Soccer" is such a stupid word. Sounds so derogatory. Kinda like:

It doesn't help that it sounds virtually identical to the word "sucker" when spoken at a normal pace. Not long ago I was reading this article written by an American on the subject, who was obviously biased towards the name "football" being used to describe the NFL one and "soccer" to describe the FIFA one. And he wrote that as late as the 1970s the word "soccer" and "football" were equally used to describe the sport in London. I literally laughed out loud when I read that BS.

Anyway, if this was a discussion about common sense, it would be too easy to win. But it's not, it's a matter of pride and wanting to simply have it your way and not succumbing to the way of others. Just like the metric system:

Some American saw this, became very upset and made this:

   The watch!

I understand why we call it soccer, don't understand why Aussies, S. Africans, and Irish folk call it Soccer (according to the map). In fact that sort of gives us an excuse for following bad examples, not our fault .

But like Fly said, why we call our Football - "Football" has never and never will make sense.

Well damn...

Matches perfectly with this tweet I saw

 @Sport_Witness
: France Football have called Arsenal FC Croix Rouge (FC Red Cross), on account of their injury record.
that's not funny bro

being seriously injured sucks, I was there last year.

Americans are stupid, it's quite simple really
both stupid and ignorant. it's called futbol in my motherland, therefore I will call it football in English.

I'm just wondering how in the world they can't sell out a CL match against last years runner up of all teams

I can understand not selling out against a lower table EPL team (I can't relate though, all my teams throughout all sports have sold out games even when they have zero chance of winning anything), but against Juventus??? Especially when this round of the CL has been the only round you've ever been able to see your team play in? Shame on you City fans

I "dislike" this part of the CL cause there are so many matches I want to watch live in one day  :pimp:
